If a guys name has not been brought up as a potential draft pick, not one time, until after his combine performance, that's a recipe for disaster IMO. Maybe in the 6th or 7th round when it really no longer matters ala Pike then maybe.

Kaepernick was talked about before the combine. You could argue he was the best QB at the Senior Bowl.

SportingNews.com has him rated as the #2 QB prior to the Senior Bowl

He has talent, he has shown it the last few years and especially this year.

I think he has a chance to become a good QB in the NFL, does need a little time to develop though.

I would not be surprised to see him creep into the first round-- a team like Miami or Oakland could package a trade to move up and get him.

I personally would not pick him before the middle of the second, but desperation is a wacky thing.
