I didn't know how salary cap #'s were established. He also makes an interesting point on how if the NFL didn't use local monies to figure into those cap #'s, it might make it better for everyone. The cap going up steadily (by $10MM+?) every year makes worlds more sense now. I'm beginning to change my views on the whole "open the books" argument. I think teams like JAX and MIN could show exactly why they are operating with such slim margins, while the Dallas and New York teams are flourishing with record profits. I encourage anyone that has not yet read this to do so, and to read the Bill Simmons article someone else posted as well. Together they have made me a lot less ignorant when it comes to the business side of the league.
