Playoffs......

Yeah...you missed the point....the Panthers have a habit of throwing kids in the fire and ruining them.....coaching has little to do with it.....that's why they have to find strong FA Qbs who can take a hit and have already developed the tools necessary to play Qb in the NFL....because the Panthers have never allowed a Qb to actually develop.

Weinke got to hold a clipboard, but he is really the only Qb we groomed and look what happened there...normally we throw them in after a couple games....IE Collins, Clausen...

Dude, Weinke sucked. I'm 44yrs old and have a bad leg and I can still move my feet better than he could.

Collins actually won games for us, but he quit on us, not the other way around. He was developing just fine here.

I guess the jury is still out on Clausen, but his natural talent is nowhere near the level of a Peyton Manning or Aaron Rodgers.

And if your theory is correct, then why haven't any of these QB's been developed after they left here and hooked up with, supposedly, better QB coaches? Face it...talent has been the problem. Peyton Manning would have been good anywhere he went because he's talented, not because some coach made him a QB. He was thrown in the fire as a rookie too, but he came out of it just fine.

Can you name a QB besides Collins, who was drafted by the Panthers and started somewhere else after he left here?

Did Craig? ha. Jeff Lewis? Steve B? Fasano? Bazanez? Stefan L? Ha. Carolina: Where bad QB's go to get worse and fade away.

They didn't get worse here, they just weren't any good to begin with. The Panthers problem is that they have passed on all the good QB's (since Collins) and tried to coach up lesser talent, and it simply doesn't work that way. If it was that easy, then everybody would wait til the 3rd or 4th round so they could get their QB's a lot cheaper.

Unless you make the Playoffs year after year like the Colts, Steelers, and Patriots do...you're rebuilding or building. To those who say we're only 3-5 players away I ask you, from what? A one and done like 08? Magical runs like 03 and 05? This team has a long way to go to get where it needs to be.

Well it looks like at this point Jake Delhomme might be the best vet FA on the market this year for the price we would want to spend.

Reunion tour??? :driving:

Every team is building. I interpret "rebuilding" as a team that has absolutely zero talent, and must purge whatever is left and rebuild. The Panthers have talent, but it's just at the wrong position.

If the Panthers had even a remotely competent quarterback they would win at least 8 games. I guess you could say we are perpetually rebuilding until we find that quarterback, but you can't deny the talented core of players we have to build around. Between Kalil, Stewart(Williams too if he stays), Otah(given he's healthy), Smitty/Gettis/LaFell on offense, and Beason, Johnson, Anderson, Martin, Gamble, Davis on defense... we are a quarterback away from being able to compete in the NFL. Unfortunately, that's easier said than done.

we can make the playoffs....here is how.....

when FA period starts...sign Mike Sims-Wlaker, Tommy Harris,

then resign our core guys.....if we have money get Dwill if not let him walk.....

make the trade with the Cincy...our 1 for their 4 and carson....

Draft Patrick Peterson with the #4 pick and lets go make the playoffs guys

The only way we make the playoffs ever again is if we draft Cam Newton

Cam Newton, Blaine Gabbert, or by some miracle, a trade for Carson Palmer... I don't care how it happens, but we won't be in the play offs without a QB, I guarantee you that.

If we were playing in either the NFC West or the AFC West, I would say that it could definitely happen.

In the NFC South, we will still be hard pressed to get above 3rd in the division.

NFC South is just a damn tough division right now.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
