Is Favre the greatest QB ever?

RE: the passer rating...with Favre it is because he's had some great seasons as a starter and some really, really sh*tty ones. That's part of why I can't consider him an alltime great. Consistency is a huge part of greatness IMO. Of course a lot of guys may have a year or two especially if starting early on where their stats will be a bit subpar. I wouldn't penalize a guy for a season or two. But...if you look just at regular season with guys like Manning and Marino they were very, very consistent with their play over a long period of time. If you use 80 QBR for a decent starter, Manning has had only one season (of 11 starting) in his career below 80 (rookie year), Marino has had 2 of 17 seasons (with one being his last year in the NFL) and Favre has had FIVE of 17 seasons below 80 (His first season in the NFL he didn't start so I took it out.). One interesting thing I noticed is Marino's comp% . Wouldn't have guessed in a million years that it was sub 60 almost every year.

WTF? I just started the thread to pose the question and start a discussion. I didn't claim he was or wasn't. I only posted the stats and let y'all run with it.

Took Elway till the end of his career to get his ring. Dan Marino couldn't get a ring, and Peyton historically blows the big one. I think you guys aren' giving Favre enough credit.

However, he is not the best QB of all time. I don't think you can list one QB as the best of all time, there have been several amazing QB's to play over the years.
