Has a team ever drafted 2 (technically 3) QBs in a draft then used their 1st rounder the following year on a QB?

I just don't see them giving up on Jimmy after just half a year, especially when it'd be replacing him with Cam.

I swear I remember someone asking Hurney during the JR Presser if they are going to trade the pick, and he responded "We have no plans to trade it away".

If someone cares to refute this, by all means, please do if you can find the video.

He said it during the press conference shortly after the season before Andrew Luck announced he was returning to Stanford.

he did say it.

people just assume that because luck isn't in the mix, all bets are off.

It actually does mean all bets are off. When the best QB prospect in years announces he isn't entering the draft, it means every GM in the league throws their draft board out the window and starts over.

He somewhat surprised me.

He said, in his opinion, that Cam Newton would go #1, however if they traded the pick, it would be because someone else wanted Cam badly, I.e "Washington".

In his mind, he said these are the two most likely scenarios. From, "guys that lose their jobs if they make bad picks", they say that Nick Fairley will not be the Panthers pick a #1, more likely that it is Dareus, but if it probably wouldnt be at #1.

Also, he thought that PP7 is not likely at #1 because Corners dont go @1 and even Deion went #5.

Made no mention of Gabbert.

To sum, if we pick someone at #1, its going to be Cam, but if we trade, all bets are off and anyone is possible.

Grrrrrr....sounds like a smoke screen....LOL

You think Gantt's opinion has anything to do with the way he was staring and obsessively smiling at Cam like he wanted to kiss him on the mouth?

5 minutes within 20 feet of him and you'll be doing the same thing.

You know he wants him in Charlotte & I don't blame him. It's still so awesome to see

Saying they don't have plans to trade the pick means that the Panthers are only going to trade the pick if somebody makes a good offer for it.
