I think this shows Fox had a bigger hand in the "personnel decisions" than we think. We would have never entertained the idea of bringing Shockey, much less signing him

I'd actually be okay with that. We pick up another position of need in the draft, and give Pickles time to learn behind a seasoned vet. Palmer and McNabb aren't guys that will take a poor team to the playoffs, but they can win a few games and teach Clausen a thing or two. I'd love for him to eventually pan out to be a great QB.

Shockey outweighs Smith by a good 60 pounds, has an 8 inch leverage advantage and fought Brandon Short as a rookie breaking 2 tables in the process of the skirmish

this would make a way different result than blindsiding Ken Lucas

Let me say that I like this move, every avg to above avg passing attack uses the TE so plus one for us in that reguard. Shockey is only 30 (hardly washed up) and can produce well in a TE friendly system which we will emplore allowing things to open up in the middle and in the running game with attention shifted to Smith (yes Smith will be back).

This will keep that extra man out of the box as we now have a threat to work the middle. With the Smash/Dash combo coming back (yes we re-sign D-Will) we have the makings to be very respectable on offense. I'm going out on a limb and predicting Clausen as the starter (I'd like to see us draft one this year #1) but I don't think we will. With that being said with more competent coaching I think Jimmy coould look good with weapons around him.

True story, my cousin is a cornerman/trainer in boxing and he has a picture with pretty much every boxer since the '80s. Well he never got Lennox Lewis picture and he saw him right before a HBO PPV started that Lewis was going to announce for. My cousin was backstage and saw Lewis and asked for a picture with him, only person around was Shockey so my cousin asked him to take a picture of him and Lewis. Shocky grabbed the camerae out of his hand, asked him if he knew "Who the f*ck he was" and threw his camera down. My cousin is a big guy all muscle and a boxing trainer so he got up in Shockeys face, security had to pull them apart and sent Shockey to his seats because he was piss drunk and being an ass backstage. He spit at my cousin as security was escorting him to his seats.

Well we have some positives here:

1. Smith will finally have another respected passing threat on the team. That will help draw some attention off of him.

2. This is a sign that we will actually use the TE. This will again help draw attention off our WR's.

3. We have a guy that can show Barnidge the way to being a great TE. King has to be gone now.
