Leadership qualities are key and if gabbert has those then I've got no problem taking him

if by crop of players you mean QB class, then I agree.

The strength of this class plays right into your biggest need after QB. If no QB is worthy of the #1, trade back if u can or take the easily better player.

For San Diego, I like the Jordan pick at 18 - he's my second choice after Watt.

In the 2nd and 3rd rounds, I think they'll take a WR and OLB, but they won't double their pleasure. WRwise we have VJ, Crayton, and Ajirotutu under contract. Floyd's a high priority, so there's only really the 5th spot - to which I wouldn't mind bringing Kelley Washington back and calling it a day. Goodman or Banks are also in play.

We likely will be going ILB in the first 3 rounds, since we have a lot of uncertainty over who will be back.

Most of the fanbase hates Clary, so we're all rooting that we go OT early.

There's also the chance that AJ could do something out of the box.

He drafted Whitehurst and flipped him, so it's not out of the realm of possibility he brings in someone like Stanzi in the 3rd (especially if Volek leaves).

Unless Sperry is the answer at backup TE, that could be used early too.

He may also look to get a small back (Locke/Hunter) to take the Sproles role if he doesn't return.

There's been a fair amount of talk that Jammer will eventually move to safety down the road, and with the team bringing in Jimmy Smith for a visit a CB is not out of the question.

The players from the end of the 1st till the top of the 3rd are a mystery imo and we could end up getting someone valued much higher than expected in the 3rd.

Also, I like Jordan Cameron but we have a TE guru here that I trust to groom someone maybe further down the draft (*cough Julius Thomas). We need more OL help than people think.

New England having that Oakland pick is going to be a pain in our ass. I can see that scenario happening, where we're set to take Jordan/Watt and they do it before we get the chance.

NT's not a need for us since we have Garay and Thomas. Garay was a PB alternate, and as the season progressed Thomas was making the most of his time in the rotation. I think Taylor may end up being this year's Alualu, in the effect that he's going to go a lot higher than consensus draft boards say.
