Good guy, good QB, but good riddance.

I respect his legacy, but I do not like the way he handled himself these last few years.

I'm ready for him to leave as well, it's time he comes to grips with his own mortality and that's what he's tried to do for the last few years. Just like Montana, he had a lot of indecision on whether he could still play the game he loves so much or whether it was time to move on. Can't say I blame him for a little "raging against the dying of the light" so I don't really have a problem with his last few years...

I don't quite agree with you on the Montana thing.

Joe was injured, and did not play for almost two seasons. He was traded, he didn't hold the 49ers hostage like Favre and GB.

Montana also went on to send his team to the postseason 2 more years before hanging them up. He made the Chiefs better, much better. The same cannot be said for the Jets.
