Andre Carter cut by the Skins...

Brayton is still versatile as a player and he is in love with here. I'm still a little put off by the whole side line thing. I've seen players intentionally not get out of the way of a player and bump them. But not get in the way to elbow a guy in the face.

I don't see how he fits though especially with some better DTs.

One thing I really don't understand is why they even resigned him. If they cut him this upcoming season then it isstupid to not have cut him during the salary purge because now his penalties will count against the cap. Why would JR even approve of resigning an old vet at all?

We should absorb the penalties quite easily but still it's not the most savvy looking deal.

We did cut him in the salary purge. We cut him to dump his overpriced contract, and then signed him to a base-level contract with incentive based accelerators. It was actually quite a savvy move as we were able to dump a large portion of his contract while retaining a versatile veteran to mentor our young D-Linemen.

Also, seeing as how he, more than likely, reached few, if any, of the accelerators, we are only on the hook for the relatively low base salary if we do cut him.

He is pretty old turning 32 in May, but this guy is in tip top shape, I mean just google images of him. My concern would be overpaying him and taking any baggage from Washington, but I think a vet DE would fit in perfect and is a hole albiet somewhat small that should be filled.

We at least need to do something!

You see other teams with respectable records (NE and NO) signing free agent talent that could help out their already good team.

We had the worst record in the NFL last year, and so far have shown no effort whatsoever to bring in talent.

It blows my fuging my. If you know you suck, why do you let teams that are better than you continue to add to their overall roster quaility?

Not a good idea to do just anything for the sake of doing something.

You still want to be smart.
