Andre Carter was also released. He had a great season the year before last playing in the 4-3. Not so much last season with the change to the 3-4. Bet he could be a solid situational pass rusher in the 4-3.

I think we have a good amount of pass rushers already. Carter might have a little left in the tank, he had 11 sacks in 2009. I don't mind having a guy like him around for experience but would he accept vet minimum or be willing to go to a team that isn't in the playoff race?

that's because he was replaced by nick hayden.

And that's not a knock on Hayden it's a knock on Fox/Hurney for totally failing to acquire or develop depth/talent for years. Lewis/Kemo were not 3 down linemen but they made them starters. Behind them was essentially nothing.
