I don't think we should take any of the available QB's at #1... so this doesn't really matter to me one way or the other. Obviously it goes to his character if he knew of the money thing and went along with it, but does this really affect his ability to be an NFL QB? I don't think so...

Could it affect teams opinions of him, possibly, but his interviews, workouts and game tape will have more effect IMO.

As far as his comments and arrogance, I think you need a certain amount of arrogance to be a good NFL QB, so that doesn't bother me either.

If he's a turd, he's a turd and I suspect the teams will figure that out in the interviews more than anywhere else...

Good post ncb... I just hope for his own sake, and if we ARE considering him seriously with our pick, for our sake, that he told the truth when asked about it at the combine.

He would be the biggest idiot ever if he went in there and sidestepped it or denied knowing about it. If you're about to get paid, what good would there be in lying about it anyway?

No its not. From a PR stand point you are done with your interviews and your done with the combine. All you have is your pro day and the Draft. If there ever was a time to try to sabotage a player its now. If this came out days after the draft then that would be a bad time. Right now Newton is facing a poor showing at throwing drills so it a perfect time for more rumors. Even if the tapes do not surface they will just be another attack coming from all sides on this kid.

Armanti Edwards will never play QB in the NFL, and he is nowhere near as talented as Newton. Even the real haters have to know that by now.
