Newton: Shit just hit the Fan..

SEC has a reputation of play for pay. How is this all news? If they're indicting Newton what about all the others, past and present?

For him to play at such a high level with all this crap flying around him is amazing. People want to pick his bones like crows.

I know that as a Panther fan I've been tired of watching them play boring ars football and so has Steve Smith.

This isn't a rumor people. A rumor is something that is completely fabricated. Cam was shopped, that's been proven. Now if this is the inevitable evidence that links Cam to his fathers shopping not only can you kiss Auburns National Championship goodbye but Cam's draft stock as well. Call me whatever you want Cam apologists but your inability to accept Cam's transgressions and admit that he fuged up in a big way is hilarious.....

I've known from the start that he probably knew what was going on; I just don't care. The majority of college athletes (the good ones anyway) are probably paid as well and bribed during the recruitment process.

I also think NFL teams know this is probably true as well. They're not stupid, and know that many college stars are likely getting paid. I don't think it'll affect his draft stock all that much, TBH. Any team who consider it a big issue probably took him off their board long ago.

Let's not go crazy here. Even if every rumor there has ever been about Cam Newton is true. It is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things.

The rhetoric that has surrounded this guy is so far over the top it is ridiculous.

This isn't a murderer, a rapist, or even a dog killer. It is a kid. I kid that has done some stupid things?? Sure. But he is still a young man that has made some mistakes.

If he stole a laptop, had some speeding tickets, participated in a pay for play scheme, or thinks of himself an icon; does that constitute calling him a convict, a jerk, a thug, "Scam" Newton, or as one person referred to him a terrible person.

I can only imagine what people would have thought of me by my 20th birthday if I was under this type of scrutiny.

I don't mind telling you that by the time I was 20 I had been arrested for a couple of things that I am less than proud of. Things worse than stealing a lap top.

I did this all while I was a college basketball player. Because it was a smaller school I was able to fly under the radar for some of this stuff to the point that even my coach never found out.

But I can also tell you that anyone who knows me (at the risk of sounding braggadocios) knows that I am as caring and nice a guy as you will ever want to meet. I am a smart guy who comes from a great family, has great friends, and just love to laugh and have fun.

My former coaches, teachers/professors, the Dean of my college, and the principal of my high school still to this day stay in touch with me. In other words I am not a bad person and have been well liked everywhere I have been.

I am not a thug, a convict, or a terrible person.

If you don't want to select Cam because of his skill set, or his college offense, his accuracy, footwork, or even these instances of indiscretion I get that. I do. It is legitimate concerns.

But forgive me when I get a little defensive with some of the tone and name calling that goes a little to far for my taste.

Keep it in perspective. He may have stolen a laptop. Is it really a reason to hate a guy.

So hate his game, hate him as our potential pick, hate his ability to be an NFL QB.

But maybe we could tone down the hate on him personally.

End of rant :)

If he is guilty of this and continued to deny it during the team interviews, it will be a BIG deal to many teams in the NFL.

Character is a very big deal....especially when you are talking about your QB, team leader, and face of the franchise.

If it is proven, he WILL NOT go in the Top 10....bank on it.

So what if he was perfectly honest with NFL teams. Would that change your mind at all? I doubt it.

When I see or hear proof of him knowing, then I'll say HE fuged up in a big way. Not his father.

As to his draft position? Or whether he will be a stud QB?

Draft position....yes

Stud QB...not in the least. I am still not sold on him being a franchise QB,

Well you're in the minority, because every analyst out there is saying he can be great as long as he works hard.

Heard them say the same thing about Russell....and no I am not comparing Cam to Russell. Just that experts have only slightly more clue than the average idiot on here (myself included).

I am OK with that. Again, this is just my opinion that the ??? about his skillset are too great to take at #1.

Never played under center

Never read defenses at the LOS

Played in a one read and then run offense

Never showed the ability to go through his pass progressions

Everyone is raving about his running ability. However, I do not see him nearly as successful running the ball in the NFL. He is not like Vick....elusive and fast. He overpowerd smaller college players. That WILL NOT happen in the NFL.

If he tries that, he will be injured 50% of the time.

Again, this is just my opinion and feeling about the guy.
