Character is more important in your QB than in any other player. Ben and Vick would not have been in the headlines nearly as much if they played CB or RT. Sure other QBs committed crimes, and Atlanta cut Vick and Pittsburgh nearly cut Ben. I was rooting for Green Bay in the super bowl because I didn't want the big prick to get a ring after this season.

Will Kasay respect Newton? Beason? Will players folllow him? And will his character issues fade with time or become magnified by money? They are important issues.

I don't think we have heard the last from Vick, by the way.

It is more about what Cam might do than it is what he has done.

Steve Smith says hello, and he is pretty close to John Kasay and Jerry Richardson. I suppose your comeback will be that beating the poo out of people and ripping them in the media is not as bad as accepting payment for playing football, right?

You're worried about him ruining a 2-14 team? Yeah I know, Cam can only make one read and he will never be able to do anything else...blah blah blah. I guess it's more fun to watch Pickles make one read, panic like a little girl, and complete a 5yd checkdown to a RB on 3rd and 14, which results in the 6th straight 3 and out, right?:rolleyes:

It just amazes me that people hate this kid so much when he's never done anything to harm anybody here. If he took money in college, that just makes him one of thousands that have done it over the years. It's not like he's a rapist or a dog killer, which the NFL doesn't really care about either, apparently.

How exactly does not wanting to use the number one overall pick on this kid equal "hating him"? If that's "hate" then I guess you can put me down as "hating" all but a few guys in this year's draft pool.

This is what earns people the term "nut huggers", when you act like nobody could possibly have any doubts about this kid unless they have some personal problem with him. Does it not occur to any of you guys that someone could legitimately have a different opinion than you without there being something wrong with them?

For that matter, do you realize how stupid you all sound when you say stuff like this?

No. My comeback is this--I never said I approved of Steve Smith or his behavior. I said he is a jerk. However, Bill Cowher (I think) said when the player's contributions on the field outweigh his baggage, you tolerate it. When the baggage tilts the scale the other way, you cut him.

Are you attacking a Panther in defense of a player who will likely play for another team? Are you a Panther fan?
