How many SBs would we win with Volek, Moore, or Clausen???

It's a trick question because whichever team Cam is on wins the next 10-12 so unless Moore or Clausen play 13 more seasons, they probably don't win one. Neither does anyone else though.

Unless of course Cam's entertainment career takes off and he decides to leave football altogether and just focus on his entertainment and icon status.

Please add something informative to the thread. I mentioned several reasons why Newton should not be the pick over Gabbert. Why don't you dispute those?

So you don't think that Gabbert or Cam's underclassmen WR's won't be trying to make a good impression on NFL scouts at their pro days? It would be insane for them to jog around and half ass it with scouts watching their every move.

Believe it or not, one of the reasons they have pro days in the first place, is so that scouts can get a peak at some of the 2012 prospects from that school.

You rehashed points which have been made by others here in other threads. Stop acting like you added that much to the conversation either. When I make threads they present a new idea or a different take on things not just reheated information. Get over yourself.

Well I am drawing the conclustion that we can pick at about any position other than center and rb and get better than we all ready have.I see Peterson and Green as premier players at their positions.Cam Newton has a huge upside but is very much a development project and will not have an imediate impact.I really like Darius at DT and Fairley but have a concern about Fairleys work ethic and heart for the game.Bowerers makes sense considering we did not sign CJ.

I think it is clear the top priority is to find our franchise qb but I am skeptical that they have identified him in either the draft or fA so I feel they will drop to the next player that best fits there need.If I had to guess it will be Darius or Bowers.I am sure drafting Newton is a consideration but does Riveria want to stick his neck out and take that risk on a project.

I agree with your post. However if Smith is traded then AJ Green would be off the deduction list. I would love to have AJ Green but it makes no sense to get him unless we trade Smith. Gabbert could be the #1 pick but his decision not to throw sends red flags to me but I saw that most 1st round qbs decide not to throw at the combine so I feel a little less concerned about him. Dareus would be a nice addition but he could be had later on in the draft so why not trade down. PP is looking more like a "sure thing" to be the top pick. I really hope we can pull a trade off because most of the players I think we need could be had with the 3rd-5th pick. Bowers would be nice to have but do we need a DE? well what if Charles Johnson leaves? if we can't get Johnson resigned then I could see us getting Bowers. Sure Clemson has had some bust at the Defensive line position the past few years but eventually that has to end, and Clemson has had some studs in the past like Trevor Pryce and Brenston Buckner.

The thing is...I know why I had never heard of Newton before last season, but why wasn't anybody talking about Gabbert before last year, when he was already an experienced div. 1 starting QB? I wish I had seen him play more, because I just don't know what makes him special on the football field.

He was still one of the top quarterbacks heading into this season (he was in the top 5 on a number of lists) People WERE talking about him earlier this year after he beat Oklahoma, but not a whole ton because his next two games were the worst he'd had. If you've watched Big 12 football you've been aware of him for a couple years. That does not mean you want him #1, but it probably means you realize why people think he's the best QB in the draft.

Gabbert is not out of shape. I'm not sure why people think that. Everything I have ever read about him has mentioned how hard he works, in the gym and elsewhere.

I do like Gabbert. I do think he is one of the better prospects. But I think we have two projects on the roster, have other big holes, and shouldn't invest in another project right now.

I will reiterate this. Gabbert was suppose to be the #1 overall pick NEXT season.. but he came out early. Luck was suppose to be the #1 pick this season.. so they essentially switched draft classes. Which is why Gabbert was not on anyone's radar this season.
