I've seen mention of Stewart proneness to injury yet he's the one whose finished the past 2 seasons not on IR

It might have something to do with him never working in training camp and barely practicing because he's so injury prone. L like Stewart a lot , but he's at his best when splitting carries with Williams, who comes to training camp and gets most of the carries.

I disagree, Stewart is at his best when he recieved the bulk of the carries. He doesn't do as well when he just gets a few random carries scattered throughout a game. His style of running doesn't aid that. Stewart taking it easy often in camp/practice isn't that big of a concern to me.....Jerome Bettis probably needed to do that.

I don't care if Stewart never practices again, so long as he keeps performing in the games.

As for Williams, we don't know anything yet, so we shouldn't be criticizing JR or the FO until we do.

Well, maybe not criticizing them for this issue. They have made their share of epic decisions though..

You mean like with Peppers, who they tried like hell to re-sign him and were willing to make him the highest paid DE in the league, even after he just had his worst season as a pro? People keep saying that they just let him walk, but that's not what happened.

They will not just let Williams walk. They won't overpay him either, but why should they?

at worst we get a 3rd round comp pick for him... like Pep...

Still sucks that it has come to this... Maybe he'll re-sign... You never know...

This is the point I was about to make. So many people are saying we should have traded him while we could in order to not let him walk for nothing, but the reality is that we most likely could have only gotten a 3rd or 4th for him last year anyway. And if he will be as in-demand as Zod is saying, then he'll gain us a 3rd round compensatory pick next year regardless. So basically, it will be a wash on the picks we would get for him...whether it was through trade last year or letting him walk now.

And if Zod is wrong, and D-Will won't sign a big enough deal elsewhere to garner us a 3rd round comp. pick, then we'll probably be able and willing to match whatever he'd get from someone else. And with his stated desire to stay if possible, he would almost certainly remain a Panther.

A huge, stupid move by the FO. Been saying it and worrying about it ever since the FO recieved interest from other teams for him. Yea we can resign him but as Zod said other teams are going to offer him much much more. I am dumbfounded we had a top three RB in the league and he is just able to walk. How fuging stupid. Yea we have 3 RBs that all show great potential, even more reason to trade dwill and actually get something. God sometimes I feel like I am a fan of the most moronic team concerning second round draft picks and letter plays walk for zip...teams like the patriots and eagles end up with so many 1-3 round picks becasue they do they exact opposite, the idiocy of this FO is unbearable.

The only way this si smart is if the FO didn't want to trade him becasue they knew for a fact he would resign. Dwill is going to be turning down A LOT if he comes back which I highly doubt he would. I am sure JR sees players also have a business side and that is why this is so fuging dumb.

Yea we do. We KNOW he has the option to walk away for nothing. We KNOW other teams will offer him more than JR, and we KNOW we could have traded him for compensation.

That is what we KNOW, the only thing we don't know is what Dwill, personally wants to do.

The FO has shown their side, there is nothing more they can do now to be judged, unless they miraculously resign Dwill. But again, that is up to dwill wanting to be here and has little to do with the FO. The FO has done (or hasn't rather) their part with this situation and I give them an F.
