D-Will a UFA

He said he wants to stay and he's not a diva type so I don't see him demanding a crazy contract, but he should paid what he deserves. He can still put up a 1,000 yd 10 TD season while splitting carries. If we let him go for cap space what are we gonna do use it on more mediocre guys for depth or sign a playmaker to big contract, if it's the latter why let ur playmaker go in the first place? People that think Goodson and Sutton type are capable of what D-Will is are crazy.

So you'd let go a dominant RB for a Wr that hasn't shown any dominance?

How soon we forget:sad:

Rice was injured most of last year. Here's his 2009 highlights. If he plays anywhere near this good he'll be a good trade off:

Goodson has a fumbling problem. Last year he fumbled twice as much as Stewart and had less the number of carries I believe. Sutton looks good but is still untested for consistency and more importantly reliability. Stewy can handle the full load but if it were down to those 3, he would have most the load and would be used up in 4 years.

 are you f**king kidding me? Stewart has missed 2 games in 3 years.. what the f**k are you watching on Sundays?

you missed the game where Goodson stepped up and jump started our running game, being the 1st person to hit a 100 yards...

he'll get over his fumbling issues...

I like Stewart but denying that he isn't injury prone is silly. The guy only has double digit touches per game in like 50% of the games he has played as a Panther. There are a lot of games that Stewart suits up and only gets a couple carries because he is injured. Again, I like Stewart but his tendency towards injuries is a concern.

Pull the stats on Goodson and the number of fumbles and I will leave it at that. I think people here often forget that we are all on the same team here. I hope Goodson and Stewart become the next Barry Sanders. I think many here believe that running backs grow on trees.

if DWill leaves, expect the carries to still be split. Goodson is perfectly capable of pounding the rock.

the coaches will help him with his fumbling problem.

Umm now we are worried about a RB's health 4 years from now.

Many of out are very poor at making solid arguments.

Let's see how Turner looks in 4 years at his pace. I kind of see Stewy stepping up as our Turner if Dwill leaves. No one's worried about it but RBs can be quick to come and go.

To me there really is no argument against not resigning Dwill. He needs to stay here period.

The argument would be if the panthers would be fine without D Williams. I believe they would be fine. If they need depth, there's undrafted Rookies right now that they should take a look at and they can sign on the cheap.

Whether you want a tall back

Darren Evans, VT

Or shorter backs

Derrick Locke, KU

Noel Devine, WV

All good backs. There's not need to over spend or get in a bidding war with anyone on a position that is a strength. There's other pressing needs. DT, CB, WR, QB, G. etc.

you're preaching double standards brother..

DWill has averaged 12 (last year) and 14 ('09) carries a game the last 2 years in the games he's played.. he's only played 19 games in the last 2 years, missing 13 games... That's injury prone homeboy.. DWill has only carried the football over 20 times a handful of times.. no more than Stewart has actually..

Stew has averaged 12 and 14 carries a game in the last 2 years.. missing 2 out of 32 games in the last 2 years. he put up over 20 carries several times last year.

Goodson started 2 games last year.. rushed 22 times for 100 yards in the 1st, 23 times for 120 yards the 2nd... he averaged 4.4 yards a carry all year, better than Stew's 4.3 and Will's 4.1..

you can claim Goodson isn't all that, but the kid was extremely good last year, minus his fumbles.. AP had issues with fumbles in 09, and only coughed 1 up last year.. plenty of RBs start out in the league with those issues. he'll also learn how to cover up the ball.

fact is, none of our RBs are going to be required to run the ball 30 times a game.. if DWill leaves, Goodson will pick up the slack and Stew will run <20 times just like DWill has been doing..

all you're stats show is that DWill is the #1 RB first and foremost.. they fail to remind everyone that a lot of people were forming the same general opinions about DWill before he finally got his shot at starting over Foster than you are saying about Stew and Goodson..

you can assume a lot about players, but there's really nothing showing that Stew or Goodson can't be major playmakers if DWill were to leave...

it would more correct to assume Stew and Goodson would split carries.. he's not going to become our Michael Turner.
