D-Will a UFA

Looks like when the CBA is reached, it will allow RFA to only be applied to third year players. This means D-Will's tender is void, and that he has played his last game in Carolina.

Guess trading him last season would have been a great move after all, aye?

Bad news for the Vikings, if and when free agency happens -- and assuming unsigned players will be unrestricted free-agents after four or five years. Rice has four seasons of accredited service with the Vikings, and it's very likely that when a new CBA happens, unrestricted free agency will revert to the original rules -- if you're not franchise- or transition-tagged when unsigned after four or five years, you're free. When Adam Schefter reported Sunday Rice would definitely test the open market before he signs with anyone, it meant the Vikings would very likely be playing without Rice this year. If there is a this year, of course.

So after 4 years, which Deangelo is, he is an UFA.

So the new CBA will state that 4th year players aren't allowed to resign with their teams? Wow that sucks.

It's laughable really. The Panthers are the only team in the league I can think of that lets their best players walk and gets nothing in return. More proof that Hurney is just a numbers guy. This team needs a football guy in the front office.

The fact that we didn't trade him last season makes me think we're going to at least make a run at re-signing him. Still don't think we should sink too much into him, though. RB is far from our biggest need, or even a need at all.

    • I wouldn’t dismiss this as a possibility. Jeanty is going to be a special one and if he’s BPA at #8, in a deep defensive draft and multiple picks in the later rounds, I think this is an option they’d have to consider at least.
    • He is going to have a good combine, and I think he is the guy we are not talking about.  He is (surprisingly) good vs the run too.  I have predicted 221 players to be our first round pick so far--pretty sure I will be right.
    • It is ridiculous how some people react when someone disagrees with their opinion. First of all, this is before the combine and there is a lot more info coming out.  If you have locked in on a pick you are a doofus.   That is right.  A doofus.  No, that was a test.  We have fake photos, names, and we are on the internet.  It takes zero courage to call people names--see? There are people who make solid points and back them with facts.  It is not important that you change someone else's mind or prove yourself to be right; it is important that we consider all viewpoints.  WRONG THINKING: I don't give a crap if Snow agrees with me--he likes being wrong, pathetic loser. CORRECT THINKING: Snow is not in agreement with my position.  What are his reasons?  Do I still believe my position?  Hmmm.  He has some good points.  I see his reasons.  I will stay with my position, but I appreciate the mature exchange of thinking. At no point should I attack him personally because that is what turds do in sanboxes when they are 6. It is not my position to focus on him--I should focus on his position.  I am not a child. This is sarcasm, but unfortunately, necessary.
