Yas changes his mind again: "Panthers can't afford to take Newton"

Well, Newton had a lackluster combine. I'd expect a media head to say nothing else.

The Newton train isn't derailed tho. Lots of Pro-Bowl quality QBs had bad combines.

I'm just more concerned we might turn him down now, but it doesn't change my thinking he'll be an amazing QB in the NFL.

Late April can't come soon enough.

I'm not convinced that's true, not by a long shot.

Im not convinced even if Luck had declared he would have been an upgrade. The fact is you will never be convinced till you draft them.

The public/media gets to know so little of details before the draft its just guess work.

Dumb a** logic again as to why not to pick Cam. So the Panthers "need a starter right away"..... Well, UH.....No Sh*t!!! They are going to go out and get one anyway so why not have the Veteran guy to start you bring in and have Cam and Clausen develope behind him!!

These reason to not pick Cam are just dumb an dumber..... the only one that would make sense is the one about whether or not he has the skills, etc to be a Franchise QB. If people feel no then fine, but all these others like we dont have a starter, or he will take 2-3 years, etc - just make no sense.

Most of us who do not support taking him do so based on teh skillset that he did not show at Auburn. He may be able to learn this skillset. But, I am not in support of using the #1 pick on a QB who you HOPE will learn to play the position in the next 2-3 years.
