DL Combine thread

He's saying assuming that Deangelo is gone based on the performance of other players when there is evidence to suggest not only do we want him back but he wants to be back is baseless......and it is.....

You just contradicted yourself in this sentence. How can something be based on a premise and still be baseless? It can't.

JJ watt is lighting it up and no one cares?

He was a guy I thought was a big strong guy only. This workout has made me think he is the complete package. He killed the rbs in the 3 cone drill BTW. Says to me his wrap as a overpowering end is incorrect. His strength was confirmed on the bench press earlier.

Edited as times changed from unofficial.

The Panther's want him back, if the price is right.. but they will be far apart on contract talks. We have no reason to pay DWill what he deserves because of the emergence in Goodson. DWill will be able to get far more with another club. It irks me that some people act holier than thou on this thread. Instead, of bashing people for having different opinions, why don't you ask them why they think the way the do, to have a better understanding.

Link to Hurney saying they won't pay him or else you're talking out your ass.

I love how your opinion's are omniscient compared to all other's. Instead of telling me that my opinion is baseless, why don't you explain in words, how my opinion is baseless? That would be more informative in this thread methinks.

I am basing my opinion on the productivity of Goodson and Stewart.. so to say my opinion is baseless means either you didn't read my post, or you do not have good comprehension skills, so which one is it?

1st- rep for using omniscient on the huddle.

2nd- for you to decide anyone is gone is completely baseless. Goodson isn't the caliber player that DLo is, still has a fumbling problem and hasn't had the load DLo has.

On top of that, both sides are saying they want a deal to keep him here. He and Stew are best friends, says he loves it here and I think he'll be resigned.

My opinion isn't any better than anyone else's, but I put a lot of thought into what I post. I have a good feel for Hurney and I think a good many players.

This is an intelligent post. You explain yourself well and back up your argument.. and that is all I ask. I am not claiming to have some sort of insight on the panthers front office.. I am simply saying that it does not make financial sense to pay DWill what he is worth. Would I love to have DWill stay in a panther uniform? Hell yes. But, from a cap perspective, and a talent perspective, it does not make sense for us to re-sign him (IMO). To bash some for having that opinion is not right. At least it makes for a good discussion.

Dareus' split more impressive

THe best DT in the draft. Dareus can play NT, 3 tech, and 3-4 DE, a look we will show on occasion. Dareus is PERFECT for what Riveran and McD will do.

Fairley was a one year, one trick pony. He is good, and he will be good, basically shooting gaps from the 3 technique.

Rivera is going to mix up the defensive fronts a lot, so the more flexible, versatile the DT, the more we can do.

May not have to pay him what he's worth, from several conversations with him he just doesn't seem like the kind to chase the biggest dollar. He's a quiet, humble kid who I think will turn down more lucrative offers to stay here a bit longer.

Hope you are right. I also wonder if JStew will like the move. I am sure there is a part of him that would love to keep his best friend around, but there is also a part of him that does not want to stay in DWill's shadow his whole career. I think if we re-sign DWill, that is essentially telling JStew that we may not sign him to an extension in a couple years.

I doubt resigning DWill would put Stew on thatmuch of a back burner. Maybe for a year or two tops.

Im not familar with all the drills that they do at the combines and I would love if someone could explain what each one is for and what are good scores for the drill.

I know that 40 time represents a players speed and 4.30 is great for a WR while 4.5-.4.6 is ok. I know what the vertical jump is for but what are the other drills like the split for?

Also can anyone post a link that shows all the scores for all the drills for every player?
