So in Episode III...

They were incorrect about their assumptions of Anakin/Vader... He was supposed to be the ONE to bring balance to the Force, but he wasn't...

Therefore, AT BEST, he was equal to or lesser than Sidious all along...

Windu was basically the Jedi equivalent of Vader... Equal to or lesser than Yoda, so any match up against a Sith of equal power would have a chance of ending either way... Kinda like the unstoppable force meets immovable object in The Dark Knight...

What defeated Windu was the transformation of Anakin, making the odds stacked against him in an unforeseen circumstance... Remember what Yoda said on numerous occasions... The future itself is difficult to see, and it is uncertain...

No they were correct about Anakin. It WAS he who killed the Emperor and ended the sith. It was he who brought balance to the force. Just not as they had hoped.

They (sort of) explained the "prophesy" on the Clone Wars animated series two weeks ago when Anakin, Obiwan and Asoka were trapped on that planetoid with the three force "gods".

Anakin had to choose to stay there to control those beings and he chose not to and it set the events in motion so that the darkside could take control thru Sidious...

Kind of a silly explanation IMO... I think the whole prophesy thing was just something Lucas made up willy nilly to support his story line in the first prequel.

I've read almost all of the novels too Darth... huge nerds we are. :D
