Gabbart and Mallet clearly the top two QB's

So you aren't disputing my post?

It's worthless to dispute you because when you're wrong, you will ignore it, and when you're right you'll gloat over it. I'm not looking for a new favorite player because unlike you, who would pick Matt Moore over any other starting QB in the league (said this to you twice, never got a response, you weren't disputing my post?) I like everybody on the team right now.

You're just the kind of guy I'd hate to work with, or be in class with, or generally ever meet. So no, I find most of the garbage you spew to be of such little value I don't like to dispute it all the time. There. That's it for me. Go ahead and tout yourself as a know-it-all football expert as much as you like from now on. Clearly you need to so you can regain some confidence and get rid of the insecurity that comes with needing to suck yourself off. So enjoy that!

I wouldn't touch Ryan Mallett with a 10-foot pole while wearing a Hazmat suit. You want the next Jamarcus Russell? Take a long, hard look at Ryan Mallett.

I don't care HOW good he looked, I'd rather we draft Ryan Leaf out of retirement than this clown. And to think, people put down Cam Newton for character concerns and yet when Mallett lights it up his (much more serious) issues are put on the back burner.

Say no to coke head QB's.

Thank you. I will enjoy it. I do have to clarify one thing though, I'm not a know-it-all football expert, but I do know QBs.

No one would take Matt Moore over any QB in the league. I would 100% take him over any realistic available QB this year.

Exactly. Why are poeple even lobying for Mallet, Newton or Gabbert with our #1 overall pick? You know we don't HAVE to pick a QB and we don't HAVE to reach with the pick.

I do want a QB in the draft but if they are basically all projects in one sense or another there is no sense in over spending for anyone. I know you guys want to takes risks and are tired of always going to safe route and normally I'd agree. I know you guys want a QB but don't get your judgment clouded, look at the draft, look at the prospects, this time it would be smartest to just go the safe route add some elite talent to the team.

Stop the QB nonsense, yes it is a huge need but this draft class isn't worth what we have for the size of the risk.

At this point, unless Fairley or another Dline player blows up today...then seriously the only player in this draft worth the first pick is PP...

Green bombed yesterday and Jones at least caught up to Green in the rankings if he didn't pass him/...

So no go on a QB...no go on a WR.... No real impressive dline prospect either... I wouldn't take fairley #1....neither would I select Bowers #1... Just a real ugly draft to have a top 4-5 pick...Great time to have a pick in the 8-15 area.... much easier to trade out of and pick up extra picks or you have a selection of good players at critical spots....

You have 2 good players at each of the major spots

PP - Prince

Fairley - Dareus

Netwon - Gabbert

Green - Jones

Bowers - Quinn

None worth the first pick except for PP and thats still a stretch...

So the team takes the player that fills the biggest need.

Now you just figure out whats a bigger need in the draft DT or QB

You could much more easily get capable DT's in FA then a capable QB....

not saying that Gabbert or Newton are the answer or worth drafting, but the best shot for the team if it can't trade back and looking at the above for the major spots... I'd say trading back isn't going to happen.

Just do what I did. Put him on ignore and prosper. Trust me you will be glad you did.

Wow, the way the ball comes out of Mallets hands and his accuracy on the deep ball is outstanding. An NFL scout said his accuracy has really improved. Sharpe and mayock are saying 'perfect throws' on his drills.

If Gabbart's pro day looks good throwing wise I am thinking its a toss up right now. If this kid can get clear attitude wise with the GM's/Coaches in the meetings it is gonna be a tough decision.

I think Locker helped himself to day and I am really liking Kaepernick.

I really want to trade down for more picks, but these guys are going to make it hard to not take one of them at #1 esp if Gabbarts pro day goes well and the way Mallett is throwing

If it were all about the deep ball then Mallet would be the top pick. But with allegations of drug use and cocaine use swirling, picking him without clearing that up would be a huge mistake.

As for Gabbert if he has a great pro day then good for him. But if Newton has a great pro day you have to look at him in the same light. If all things are equal I still like Newton who competed and put it out there with so much to lose while Gabbert didn't even try. I don't care what his agent said, he could have done it if he wanted to.

I would think the interviews will play a big role as well. Neither Gabbert or Newton are head and shoulders above the other. If you pick a guy number 1 you have to be comfortable about them being the face of the franchise. I haven't heard about how Gabbert did at the combine in the interview portion.

The other question is what do these rating measure. Who is the best QB today based on their current level or who will be the best guy in a year or two. I would think if you are looking for a franchise guy you want to know who has the biggest upside and will be the best in 2 years versus who is the most polished right now.

I study QB's too and we differ on some of the draft picks, but I am with you in one regard.

If we sign a FA QB, I hope that QB is Matt Moore.

The only thing I worry about is whether we can work out a deal with him. The FO is not going to offer him more than a 1 year contract. He will probably want at least 2 maybe 3.

Yeah, drafting a QB is not about next year...it's about the next 12-15 years. I just don't get this " he has to be an immediate impact" mentality. I would like for a rookie QB to be more productive than JC, but I don't expect greatness out of any rookie QB.

Why do you think that? I think he gets more of a one year deal and I don't think it'll be an issue. I think the FO likes him more than the fans (shocking) and they want to bring him back. He wants to be back.

I think he could get a 3-4 year deal worth 10-14mil which would be CHEAP for a backup QB and highway robbery if he turns out to be a starter.
