QB Combine Thread

1. He was asked directly by Eisen

2. He clarified his comments and reiterated that they're nothing alike, just cautioning ppl not to put too much stock into private workouts.

Before they came back on the air Mayock prob said "Hey Eisen, ask me about Russell!" :D:D

Then where where did these numbers come from??

Not saying you are wrong but this was what ESPN has and Pro Days are usually timed by teams. So that would be an unofficial time.

Im not sure anymore

I can't believe it. Mayock actually admitted that Cam Newton could be superman if he's willing to work hard. He also said that he didn't care about the allegations of cheating or the laptop thing, aside from saying that it's something teams will have to investigate, which is a pretty reasonable opinion, for a change.

BTW, I don't understand why anybody would discount a QB's atheltic ability. Have some of you not been paying attention to what happens to a Panthers defense when the opposing QB is able to extend plays? Personally, I would love to see a Panthers QB do that to our opponents, for a change. It sure beats the hell out of watching Panthers QB's crumble under pressure and take big losses.

Atletisim has nothing to do with crumbling under pressure, that's all between the ears. Brady isn't athletic by many standards but he was the ability to find his guy in the face of pressure.

Escapability and mobility are nice, but they just don't compare to the other attributes.

Me neither. Unless this is what ESPN got from his pro day bc I don't think the host college gives out a time. I think they let the teams clock them themselves. SO maybe ESPN had 4.55 and Panthers had 4.48.

When you have multiple people timing there can be discrepancies like that. So maybe that is what happened :p:p

You have a good point but what makes you think Cam will crumble under pressure??

Are you talking about pass rush or outside pressure??

BC pass rush pressure is a legit concern but he has been pretty amazing with the outside pressure and scrutiny IMO. Especially on the field.

When did I say Cam would crumble? I'm merely pointing out that I have bigger concerns than mobility.

Williams did not run at the combine.

Then ESPN got his time from the pro day.

What I may have remembered is that ESPN had 4.55 but Panthers had a better time than that.

BC I remember them discussing his slow time on ESPN. They were really surprised.

I dunno. I got the numbers from ESPN.

If I am incorrect my apologies :o
