Shockey to visit the Panthers tomorrow.

Does Chuds offense have many two TE sets? If not, I'd rather someone like Barnidge get the opportunity. If it dies and we could have one of the young guys along with Shockey, I'd be ok with that. Not familiar with the Chudjabdjcinsky offense though.

For a sneak peak, look at the Miami Hurricanes from 01-03. Some of the best football you'll see. period. People may say he was surrounded by a ton of future pros, but he was still the OC and coached them. And he did a damn fine job.

Honestly, what the hell, I'm for Shockey. Chud is an ace with TEs and balanced/aggressive offenses.

Being a Dallas Mavericks fan and them picking up an often injured Tyson Chandler had me worried that he'd continue to be on the bench injured (as most are w/ Shockey). Now everyone on the team says he's their vocal leader and team MVP and has only missed a couple games due to the flu and has played lights out every game.

I know the NBA isn't as physical, but morale of the story is, don't always let someone's injury history over shadow the positives and skill presence a player can bring to a team that needs it.

I like Shockey. He tells it how it is, goes to war every Sunday, good hands, and seems like a really good teammate to guys. If he'll sign for cheap, I'd take him.

He wouldn't be doing a favor if Carolina had no real interest in signing him and was just coming in for a charity interview. Chud wouldn't have a need for that kind of favor

Bidding wars start over less.....if the Dolphins believe there is interest in Shockey, then they may offer him more to secure the deal....not to mention other teams may start showing interest.....Carolina bringing him in for an interview even with no intentions to sign him still helps his stock rise.

Oh come on......Im cheering for the Panthers even if we bring in every thug ever in the NFL

Me too, and Shockey would be an upgrade; hard to start loving a guy you have enjoyed hating for so long.

It would take a lot more for me to accept Sir Cameron Newton: Leader of Men, Lover of Puppies...Esquire.

Based on what? The 12 passes catchable passes that were thrown their way this year?

Oh yeah because we had some real studs before Clausen got here:rolleye:

2010 will probably be one of the worst passing offenses the panthers have ever had for a long time. It's void as far as evaluating a player especially the negatives.

Even considering the Fox philosophy that neglected tight ends, Rosario is the only guy that has looked anything like a legit contributor in a offense that would give him chances. It's a delusional thought that a player's lack of production has nothing to do with their ability.

King is a blocker. I've never seen Barnidge make a contested catch or go over the middle. Seems like all he does is run post routes and go routes trying to take advantage of a slow LB. He's got speed and a tall frame but it's never amounted to anything.

P.S. considering King/Rosario are free agents with an entirely new coaching staff who knows if they will even be coming back.

I think the Panthers get their tight end somewhere else in free agency or the draft. There are a lot of other reasons why Shockey doesn’t fit the profile of Richardson and Hurney. First off, he’s flamboyant, and flamboyant generally doesn’t fly with Fox and Hurney. Second, although Shockey behaved (other than some hydration issues) in New Orleans, I think that was only because he knew better than to challenge quarterback Drew Brees.

lol wtf does what flies with Fox have to do with anything anymore?

and Yas once again takes his opportunity to poo all over Smitty in this article. Yas is such a tool.
