Ricky Stanzi, the major sleeper?

Is drawing a handful of ridiculous comparisons (Tom Brady), but this guy really has all the tools to succeed in the NFL. From everything I've seen and read, he's seems to be a likeable-leader, strong vertical passer, and has good field awareness.

I hadn't watched much of him. I like what I see in those highlights. Looks to have a good arm and like all the articles say he "stands tall in the pocket." I wouldn't mind taking him later in the draft but I doubt we do. I think some team will be happy they drafted him.

I actually really like him the more I see. any Iowa fans have any input on him? I am very interested to see his wonderlic score. Either Moore or Pike would have to go though and I'm not sure that will happen. Depends on what the new staff thinks of them. If we draft him though I am going to be excited!

He scored a 30 on his wonderlic. here is the followup to that article:

I'm sold. I want to take PP or Dareus with the first pick and pray like hell that Stanzi falls to the 3rd round.

No to any QB that's not the 1st overall pick. When's the last time a 2nd/3rd round QB made it in the NFL as anything more than a backup?

True it doesn't happen often but that doesn't mean it cant: Schaub was a 3rd rounder, Kolb was a 2nd rounder, Orton in the 4th, Gerrard was a 4th, Brees was a 2nd rounder, Brady a 6th, more recently Colt McCoy who could be good was taken in the 3rd.

The percentage of hits on 2nd a 3rd rounders might not be as good as 1st rounders but I don't think that means you shouldn't take a chance on someone. As long as you like what they have shown you and you think they can be the guy you take him and if you can take him in the 3rd or 4th round its that much sweeter.

All I know is that he looks the part to me and everything I have read about him just reinforces that. I think this guy is going to be good and if he is there when we pick in the 3rd I am going to want us to take him.
