In that situation there really wasn't a good answer. He says no then everyone goes "well why not, he was supposed to be the most pro-ready QB". He said yes everyone goes "well then why did you suck so much". I personally don't think Clausen will become our Franchise QB, but here no matter what he said he was screwed.

You guys kill me. Everyone trying to talk poo about Clausen. First of all if he is gone next year then you should all be poo talking Hurney and management, not Fox and Clausen. They are the ones who picked up a bust with a second rounder. Then you all say Newton is worth the risk, you wouldn't have said Clausen is worth the risk with basically the last second round pick? I think Clausen would be waaaay more justified than Newton as #1 overall. Next, half you guys you guys talk about how Newton should sit and learn or Newton should start. The huddle can't handle mistakes, rookies QBs need time and need an owner and management that is focused on winning.

None of this was given to him last year and he comes out and says "it is only going to make me better", yet the title is Clausen "I don't know", applying everyone has already written him off and given up. Perfect kindle for yet another Clausen poo storm. What a young, misguided fanbase. Yea let's trade a QB cause he was slightly less than mediocre one year after being thrown to the wolves, trade trade trade. He is cheap, he has potential (like it or not), it would be stupid to trade him.

Clausen says he doesn't know if more time would have helped him, because it never happened. He could of said, "yep, this team just threw me in there and that was bullpoo". Clausen isn't worth poo, he isn't going anywhere. All I am saying is if Clausen turns out to be playing for us next year one way or another, he should be supported by the fans.

To me, mediocre is in the middle of the league. So I'd put slightly less than that at, eh, maybe a bit past there... in some statistical category (other than INT% :P lol)

OK: Apparently not... The Speed in practice was 10x faster but the game? I knew i had a lot of work to do but man... Hitting the books & film in college is nothing compared to what I gotta do now.

Every Single TD I get next year I'll run to the stands & signal kids to pull out their report cards (I'll buy 30 endzone seats every weekend & fill them with kids)& the highest grade gets the ball & I'll sign it. If it's a record breaking ball I'll take their whole family to dinner, have it filmed, & sign it. I really want to like Clausen and if he's Carolina's QB next year I'll support him, but sometimes the things he does and says just seem... clueless.

Clausen isn't going anywhere. If you think he will be cut or traded you are not very bright. We have very little invested in him and Dan Marino wouldn't have done much better last year with what we had to work with. If Riveria has any sense he will go after the best veteran QB he can get. No one knows who will be available until after this CBA mess gets ironed out.

Folks in this forum kill me. I hope Edwards and Clausen turn into pro bowlers just to see everyone in this forum back track. So where are all of the Matt Moore lovers?

Maybe they/we weren't "Moore lovers", just loved ANYBODY other than Delhomme by that point and he was on the roster and had performed well in limited action :rolleyes:

Not to mention (as far as last season is concerned) I see plenty of posts from Clausen supporters saying "any QB <insert top named QB here> would have looked bad last year"....hmmm :confused:

I agree that Clausen has gotten a bit of a bum rap but he was far worse than slightly worse than mediocre last year.
