Dragon Age 2 demo

Yep I agree kurb, needs more diversity AND content in that respect. They have the relationships down but need to add more detail. I loved dragon age but I could see how it could get worse. My fear is it becomes more like a Baulder gates slack and hash action type RPG with less of that detail it already lacks. I love baldurs gate but dragon age isn't baldurs gate. I hope the have bigger and more diverse cities and more to do however I have a feeling they went the more hack and slack fable/ baldur gate type route which kind of sucks; limited skill trees. Hopefully they'll still keep the fun relationship play.

Either way I can't wait, I'll be buying on release Tuesday...try and have it keep me busy till EC5.

Just got done playing the demo and went ahead and pre-ordered it. The combat does seem a lot more fluid. The skill trees seem to be almost the same with a different UI. I'm really, really hoping for more diverse weapons and armor(same for Elder Scrolls).

Dragon Age went a step backwards. In incorporated Mass Effect 2 aspects. Like linear landscaping (no exploration) and party relationships (go around and recruit members using whoever, talking to them from time to time). I pretty much consider it a failure. The demo leaves you with a feeling it would be a much better game. Obviously something decent to pay the bills, a sequel so a familiar name. It's not that it is a terrible game, it just fails at building from the first one which was pretty good. I'll probably finish it and forget it in about a week. The first dragon age I liked better this one is very bland, plain and not involving at all. This will satisfy your RPG itch though, more than anything else recently released at the moment. Elder scrolls in 6 months!

I'm enjoying the combat more than the original but it's a bit too linear. You can't talk to companions nearly as often. They recycled the same half dozen locations which is disappointing. I'm digging the story and there are some interesting bits. Just wish it was a bit more open ended, but with the structure of the game (being retold after the fact) I guess they decided you couldn't really be allowed to do too much wandering. I am really enjoying the combat though. Much faster pace and and the waves make you have to actually hold some in reserve when you start a fight. Just wish the mobs didn't just magically appeared around you. Mages feel much more vulnerable than in the first one. I like the personalized spec lines for the companions but wish i could do a little more customization for the armor, instead of just finding a set number of upgrades. I don't care if I can't change the look, just let me tweak the stats. I'll probably try the game at least once more as another class once I beat it the first time.
