It was not the greatest season in NCAA history by a QB.

He isn't a lock but he is a much much better prospect at the QB position than Cam Newton.

Name one season that is better?? Find me the last QB to throw for at least 2800 yards. Threw for more than 30 td's. Had less than 8 Int's, Ran for 1400 plus yards, and had 22 Td's rushing in a season, and won a national championship. Who was that guy because I have been studying it for years and haven't seen one like it. Hell just his rushing stats alone are one of the greatest seasons in SEC history. I mean Bo Jackson had only 300 more yards rushing and only 17 Td's. And he won the heisman as a running back. Good luck on this one I will be waiting.

Why is Luck a better prospect than Cam Newton?? I mean I agree with you. But I don't think the gap is that huge the way you guys pretend it is.

His physical gifts aren't better than Cam's. He might have a better pedigree and better footwork but that in itself isn't enough to say he is light years ahead of someone.

Graham Herrell had 51 TDs (Cam only had 50), Completed 70% of his passes (Cam only 67%), amassed 5,096 yards (Cam only had 4,327).

Colt Brennan had 63 TDs, completed 72% of his passes, had a 9.9ypa (Cam did have 10.2), and amassed 5,915 yards of offense.

Sam Bradford had 55 TDs, completed 68% of his passes, 9.8 ypa, amassed 4,767 yards of offense.

Three seasons off the top of my head better than Cam Newtons.

Pretty big missing piece to the trophy case if you ask me. Otherwise is Dan Marino better than Joe Monatana?? If not why?? His stats are better.

Winning championships is a team thing isn't it? In college it matters even less since the national championship is decided by some computer.

Those guys all dominated Cam statistically and they it's clear they had better seasons.

Not getting into the argument, but can't really judge based on championships. It's a team game, Cam didn't win by himself.

I am an UNC fan so whatever with the Auburn stuff. They said the same things about Sanchez and Stafford over Josh Freeman yet Freeman is the best of the three. So is it really light years??? I admitted he (Luckl) would be my pick if he came out so I agree with you guys.

But to say he is light years better is an overstatement that means nothing and isn't backed up historically.'

Frankly, Luck's legend is a little extreme. He isn't a lock and Cam's upside is actually higher than Luck's but I admit his downside is lower as well.

I have watched a ton of film on Luck and he does have a lot of things he is going to have to shore up as well.

Auburn-Fairley= Still a chance but of course not guaranteed.

I think his point was without Newton Aurburn would have been what it was for years, middle of the road. He's right IMO it probably was one of the best seasons for a college QB in history (I wont say the best but it was up there)

So Dan Marino is better than Joe Montana. He dominated him statistically. Good to know for your future credibility. Wilt Chamberlain is better than Bill Russell/Michael Jordan.

I thought we judged people on championships.

So Cam doesn't get any credit for winning a national championship?
