Or a QB that chooses not to throw at the combine.Thats kinda like a running back choosing not to run.

Plenty of quarterbacks don't throw at the combine. It's not that big a deal as long as he throws at his pro day and goes through the interviews. Plus, I was talking about the fact that we could go into next year with a couple free agents. It's not as if we HAVE to choose one of Clausen, Gabbert, or Newton (Or Mallet/Locker/etc). There is a slight possibility none of the QBs in this draft are worth going #1 overall and we may need to just work around that fact.

I just don't like drafting on pure potential. Makes me uneasy.

Yea and the last two QBs to not throw without injury were Jamarcus Russell and Brady Quinn. How did they turn out? Yea...

Here is a little thing a pro had to say about it.

The only thing you're doing by not throwing is hiding something.

Matt Bowen explains:

Show the NFL that you can perform and produce results under the most stressful of situations-because that is exactly what is expected of you on Sundays in the league. Don't hide. Instead, show up ready to run, throw, jump, etc. If I am a coach or a GM, that is what I want to see.

There are scouts, coaches, GMs and owners from every single NFL team in Indianapolis and they are all there to watch you... As a player, you want your name in the notebooks of the top brass of the NFL. Will a Bill Belichick or a Mike Tomlin come to your pro day? Maybe, but they are guaranteed to be in Indy.

Because I've hated that pick from the start and knew he was terrible from the start. I don't hate Cam and I don't know that he'll be terrible.

Big difference.

This quite possibly may be the nicest thing you have ever said about Cam Newton. :D :D

The Golden Calf of Bristol may have Jesus but Cam Newton has the ability to make the insane, sane again. Put that in your pipe and Smoke it. :D
