Cowboys interested in Cam Newton??

Jeez now Cam is better than Brees too?

All the hate you are putting on Romo? They went 11-5 that year. All those pass attempts are really what made him a good QB

LOL, where exactly did I say that Newton is better than Brees, or that I hate anybody? Those guys are doing what they're coached to do, just like Cam Newton did what he was coached to do, yet you can't bring yourself to give Cam credit for anything.

You complained that Cam isn't getting the credit that Brees does when Brees throws arguably the most accurate deep ball there is. He is always pushing the ball down field first before looking to dump off. The screens each of them throw are completely different in nature and accomplish different things. Brees is a Super Bowl champion and one of the 4 or 5 best QBs in the league.

Cam doesn't deserve to be in the same paragraph with him.

Romo was the 8th ranked QB in 09...look it up. My point is that QB's who throw that much always put up big numbers unless they are just downright putrid. Drew Brees throws more screens and swing passes than Cam ever did in college, so why is Cam being castrated for it, while Brees, Romo, and Bradford are the greatest of all time for completing a bunch of 5yd passes and letting the RB's a WR's get all of the yardage? There seems to be a double standard here.

What is with you and QB rating be the be all and end all? Romo was top 5 in a bunch of categories that year. He was a probowl player... and he'd be a HUGE upgrade over anyone we have had and anyone we could possibly have this year in the draft or FA.

Did you seriously ask why people weren't going at Brees in college? Uhm, I don't know, MAYBE because Drew Brees didn't go #1 overall? Drew Brees was not seriously considered for #1 overall?? AND he did it for more than one year and threw a poo TON? Not all spread QBs OR spread offenses are the same!

...holy poo, were you actually comparing Brees at NO to Cam Newton at Auburn? :willy_nilly:

wow I totally misread his post.

I thought he was saying how Brees in college was from a spread etc and threw a ton of short passes and nobody was all over him. Had no idea he was talking about the Brees that is one of the best QBs in the league with an offense that fits his abilities perfectly.

You probably subconsciously gave him the benefit of the doubt because no one in their right mind would compare the two but he did it. The monster cat did it.
