Wallace to Portland, For 2 first rounders, Pryzbilla + Dante Cunningham

I grade him a D minus for his facts. We didn't get Portland's 2011 first rounder. It's no earlier than 2013.

He's a Boston homer anyway, his opinion of the NBA outside of the Celtics is garbage.

 Not sure where he's coming from on that one and TC wasn't one of the cats best players....

He's the only one I've seen say anything negative about the Wallace trade. Hell most Sites have the Bobcats as one of the trade deadline winners...

Here's the question - will Pryzbilla play for us or not? I don't know what he has left in the tank, but we could use some depth at center.

When will we see some news regarding these three new players in Charlotte???

Silas wins over Przybilla

It's no secret former Portland Trail Blazers center Joel Przybilla had major misgivings about being traded to the Bobcats. He didn't want to uproot his family and he questioned what sort of a role the Bobcats had in mind for him.

An hour and a half of meetings with coach Paul Silas, general manager Rod Higgins and team owner Michael Jordan apparently smoothed over all that. Przybilla said at practice Saturday that he's excited because the Bobcats are excited to have him.

Przybilla thought he was just being thrown into the deal for Gerald Wallace because of his expiring contract. Silas convinced him he'll play plenty as the backup to Kwame Brown; that's he's wanted and needed.

"When I first saw him, walking down the hall, I said, 'How are you doing?' He said, 'Ah, I'm doing...' '' Silas described. "I said you're going to be all right and then we sat down and had a long talk.

"I said how good he could make our ballclub, how good it could be for him. If he wants to play another year or whatever, I really think he will be able to, because people are going to see a lot different, as they've seen in some other players who have played here.''

Przybilla has a knee injury, and acknowledged he's not 100 percent. Silas said they'll manage his minutes, in consideration of how he's feeling physically. But Silas is counting on Przybilla to protect the rim, to be more of a shotblocker and post defender than Nazr Mohammed was here.

I'll have a lot more about Przybilla -- the new Bobcat with the biggest role of the three -- in Sunday's Observer.

I've seen Cunningham play a couple of times and I got to tell ya, I think he really has a chance to blossom into a core player. He's very versatile and with his combination of speed, height, and the ability to shoot he's going to put defenders in a "pick your poison" situation coming off pick and rolls/pops etc in the half court game, and he can fly in uptempo style as well. I'm gonna miss G-Force, but we got more roles filled and now we can be more creative in our sub packages with the better depth.

I don't necessarily think we should sleep on JP either, he'll make the opposing slashers pay for their drives. We need a physical presence on the block who's not afraid to throw a bow. You're not playing D if your not pissing your opponent off.

stopped reading there, he is the worst ESPN writer. ever

Everything he said obviously wasn't right.

But the only thing keeping the Bobcats from contracting or being relocated is Michael Jordan. Don't kid yourself. If/when he gets to a point where he can't afford to own the team anymore or feels like it's a lost cause (read: 5 years from now, max) he'll sell it, and the team will meet one of two endings: move to Seattle, or contract.

Btw, the more I listen to Silas speak and hear the players talk about him and hear other people talk about him the more I love having him as the Bobcats coach. I am also excited about the possibility of his son being the next head coach after next year. Seems like the perfect fit if you ask me.

Paul Silas will always be the man to me, I have been a fan since his earlier days in Charlotte with the Hornets. He had us playing really good basketball. So i dont think we could have done any better as a coach.

False... I suggest you read up on the Bobcats' arena lease deal that they have with Charlotte. The Bobcats are stuck here for awhile regardless of who owns the team, unless someone is willing to pay an enormous amount of money to the city of Charlotte to relocate them or contract them.

Besides, half the teams in the NBA lost money last season, to single out the Bobcats for relocation/contraction is very unfair. If you're gonna contract the Bobcats then you should also contract the 9 teams who are trailing them in attendance. And that includes Atlanta, because despite being 12 games over .500 the Hawks average 1,200 fewer fans per home game than the Bobcats. Now that is a city that doesn't deserve an NBA franchise, in my opinion.

Also, Bill Simmons is a complete tool.

There is a huge fanbase of basketball fans in the carolinas that still don't care for the NBA because of the hornets. As the bobcats continue to grow and become more of charlotte, more of those old NBA fans will be coming back. Remember, this is a community that sold out the equivalent of 9 straight seasons. The potential is here, and I think jordan is the one to bring it back to the glory days. It may never get back to the old hornets, in terms of attendance but Jordan and co. is on the right track.

Simmons isn't the only one thinking that though. And if you're gonna talk relocation or contraction, Charlotte would be at least top 10 for that in the league's eyes.

So all Stern needs is to contract the team owned by the former player that is hailed as the greatest of all time and whom half the league's greatest players wear his same number right now? So lets piss off jordan and contract his team, sure that promotes NBA longevity.

Guys like Simmons don't know about the lease between the Bobcats and Charlotte. And Simmons is an idiot for even bringing up contraction/relocation just because MJ made a move to put the team in better position going forward - something teams do all the time. He should stick to covering his precious Boston Celtics.

Bottom line is, it would cost roughly $150 million to contract or relocated the Bobcats today. Even 5 years from now it will still cost nearly $100 million. Nobody is going to pay that kind of money to move or contract a team.

And what is it with you anyway, are you hoping the Bobcats fail or something? I hope you're more loyal to Panthers than you are to Bobcats. LoyalPanthersFan....

Wallace just made his debut for the Blazers. Got a standing ovation.

First play he was in got the defensive rebound on the first shot by Atlanta.

Was watchin too, Im glad they seem to respect him and his effort. I always loved G force and I will miss him but I will also cheer for Portland during the playoffs.
