Then gtfo and go watch the Canes, look I don't know you personally or anything but I don't believe that you have some sort of Clairvoyance where you know exactly how this team will behave with the new roster. What if this sparks a huge turnaround for the Cats and we end up with some diamonds in White and DC? The problem I have with your posts are that you won't even just say "We'll wait and see what happens." You are just automatically flushing this team down the terlit because there is no GW or Nazr.

i dont think some of these people even watch the games, gerald has lost some luster and was on a decline. he cant n never could shoot. we sold him at peak value and got alot in return. some people have too much loyalty to players and cant see the truth. truly i am sorry that he couldnt finish his career here, cause he deserved better, but its a bussiness and every player needs to learn that

not only that but, while he was only 28 or something, he might as well had been in the early to mid 30s with all of his injuries.

I will miss GW as much as anyone, but let's be real guys. Wallace has had a lot of injuries, a lot, it's not just 28 years old, I think he's farther along than that. We got decent value for him honestly. We will NOT complete this year. Probably not next. The east just got better too. We have to look toward the future. We have to get some good picks, and hope MJ can sign some talent.

I'm excited about seeing Henderson starting, as we all should be. He could potentially make us not miss GW. Jax will be at the SF position now, where we lose some rebounding but he can still play decent defense. He may be better at that position anyway. When we get TT back we'll have even more of a spark. I'm not really sure who backs up Henderson though, we'll see. Brown will probably see more time now, with Jax moving to SG sometimes.

Let's give it time. You have too. Like I said, no way we'd compete anyway right now.

I think this might open up min for Matt Carroll to backup Gerald Henderson. Put him out there when he isn't pressured to score and he can jack up threes..I think there is an unknown commodity with him off the bench. Or, it may be known just without the opprotunity yet.

You got it, no longer are we 8th or 9th in the East, now we're 13th or 14th. Hooray.

Look at our roster now. That is 13-69 material if I've ever seen it next year. If the Hornets get a top-7 pick, we won't get anything out of this deal til 2013, when the Blazers are competing for a title and we're 5-51.

Well that's just your opinion. I am partially saying hooray because I feel it is a step in the right direction for our future. This is the exact same thing I talked about after last season.... I did not want to get stuck in a cycle of medocrity.... To better explain I will find a post of mines from last year...

Bobcats are coming off their most successful season in franchise history. We may be disappointed with the effort in being swept in the series, but the truth is the team made great strides this season. The question is how do we get better and improve the team for next season???

IMO this is not a team we should keep together. This team is not like how the Hawks were a few seasons ago (Young up and coming core of young talented players) or the OKC thunder this season. Those teams had a high ceiling, I believe this current team is close to their peak. Things need to change this offseason, but what?

Sadly I believe we are stuck in an area of mediocrity.... We don't have the tools to greatly improve the team. We don't have the salary space to add top Free agents (Especially compared to others around the league). We do not have draft picks to improve during the draft.... and even in future seasons we will not be bad enough to have top picks in the draft.... therefore we will always be a step away from drafting the top prospects out of college.

If we trade, we will have to give up a lot...Teams are not going to give you big time scores for free.

These are the reasons why I see the team stuck in mediocrity for the next 3-5 years unless we do something Major!!!!!

My opinion.... blow the team up.... Trade for young pieces, and try to trade for draft picks in the upcoming seasons. Somehow we have to get franchise players on this team.... I love wallace, but I say no-one is safe. Hopefully we could rebuild the team in the next couple of seasons....

If you were the GM what would you do??? Do you have another way to realistically take this team to the next level??

So this has always been my mindset and concern, and this season was just proving what I said at the end of last season. I want to try to improve, have more chances at young talented players then settle for 10th to 7th place every year... But that's just me. I love Wallace, but I love the move... exactly why I said bitter sweet.

Players Lost:

Okafor: 11 ppg, 10 rpg

Chandler: 10 ppg, 9 rpg

Felton: 17 ppg, 9 apg

Wallace: 15 ppg, 8 rpg

Mohammed: 7 ppg, 5 rpg

Players Gained:

White: 3 ppg, 2 rpg

Cunningham: 5 ppg, 3 rpg

Livingston: 6 ppg, 2 apg

2 first round picks )that go back to Portland if top 7 in '11 or top 12 next three years)

Yep, clearly looks like we are headed in the right direction, to the top of the East.

The short-term impact of this move (and prior moves since last summer) is at best a push and more than likely a drop-off. I don't think anyone is arguing that. But the long-term impact is more than likely a positive one. With the East piling up star after star, the Bobs only chance is going to be by building around young talent ala OKC.

Why do people have such a hard time seeing that?

And while you can say that the Bobs lost both Oke and Chandler, they found a very low cost alternative in Kwame Brown. They should get credit for that.

And yes they lost Raymond Felton, but found cheaper and much smarter alternatives in DJ and Liv.

And yes they lost Gerald Wallace and his 15/8 numbers, but Hendo is slated to eat up a lot of the minutes lost by Wallace and Hendo has been averaging a nice 12/4 in 24 minutes of play in the month of February. Plus Wallace is off 20% from last year's numbers and is clearly not the same player anymore. Trading Wallace while he still has value is a smart move. Wallace is clearly a player that is 28 years old going on 34.

So, really the Bobs have lost some depth, but the talent drop-off from the starting 5 of last year to the starting 5 we will have now isn't much.

Last year:

Felton

Jax

Wallace

Diaw

Theo Ratliff/TC

This year

DJ (better than Felton, regardless of what the stats say)

Hendo

Jax (taken a step back from 2009-2010 season)

Diaw (taken a step forward in 2010-2011 from 2009-2010 season)

Kwame (shows up every night and is solid on defense).

The Bobs have a bunch of money coming off the books in the next 2 seasons. By my count, the expiring contracts of Diaw, Diop, Pryz, Mo Pete and Najera all come off of the books this year or next. That frees up roughly 35 mil in cap space, with the only noticeable subtraction being Diaw. That 35 mil will then be used to sign Hendo, DJ, and Kwame to long-term deals, shore up the team with a couple of mid-level FAs, and then swing for home runs in the draft.

How many players on the current roster were on the Bobcats in the 08-09 season? Diaw? Is that it? Matt Carroll went to Dallas and came back so he doesn't count. How does anyone expect Charlotte to build a half decent team if you can't keep a starting lineup intact for more than a year or a year and a half? I'm not trying to dog on the Bobcats fans here, just making an observation...

like it or not- yesterday was good for the franchise..

you all need to relax.. the team now has its starting PG, backup PG, SG, PF and possibly C if Kwame shows out the rest of the year like he has been doing..

if Cunningham shows me 2/3 of what i think he is- by this time= the trade deadline next year, we will be seeing this move as a steal..

add in the 2 1st rounders we have This year and we could potentially have the nucleus set to become the young OKC of the East..

oh yeah, and now we will have cap room next year for a FA too..

I think Diop and DJ were on the roster. But this turnover has as much to do with the now departed LB as it does management.

Really, all of the Bobcat's woes started when they handed out big money to Carroll and Okafor and traded the expirings of Hermann and Primoz for Nazr. Everything else that they have done has been trying to cover up those mistakes.
