Wallace to Portland, For 2 first rounders, Pryzbilla + Dante Cunningham

...wut?

This draft is terrible... C/C- at best. I could easily see the best talent staying in school, especially with mediocre seasons from Barnes and Leslie and the injury to Kyrie.

There's nothing that really points to Jimmer being a GREAT NBA player but he could be the next Steph Curry so it's a big risk there.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to add Enes Kanter, Jan Vesley, Jonas Valanciunas, or Donatas Motiejunas but you can never truly count on those Euro bigs.

Honestly I'd love to see us get Kanter and Chris Singleton with those pick. If that's how it shakes down, this trade is definitely a win for us.

Um I believe you sir are on crack

I hate to see Wallace go. But I think this was a good move by MJ. I never thought we would get 2 first rounders for Wallace - considering his injury prone reputation - and a young athletic PF like Conningham.

Speaking of Cunningham, I've seen him play quite a bit. I really like his game and I think he will bring a lot to this team - he had 18pts & 13 boards in 24mins 3 games ago for Portland. If Tyrus can come back healthy, hopefully we can move Diaw in the off-season. I think Tyrus+Cunningham can be a good combo at PF for the future.

Scoring isn't all that matters and a lot of those guys have low-to-no upside. We need to get guys who are going to improve on the NBA level.

Also look at the amount of teams trading their 1st rounders this year. Doesn't that tell you something about this clas?

^ We have three first round picks in what could possibly be one of the most stocked draft classes in recent history.

One particular site had us taking

Jimmer Fredette

Josh Selby

Chris Singleton

That would be solid all we need to do is sign a really good center.

That may not be true....

The picks we got from Portland are 2011 New Orleans first round pick and Portland's 2013 first.

If we do get the NO Pick it may not turn into a 1st round pick if we are very unlucky

# 21 - Portland receives New Orleans 2011 1st Round Pick (protected top 7 in 2011, top 8 in 2012-14, or will be 2015 second round pick and 2016 second round pick) for Jerryd Bayless.

Im still not sure about protected vs non-protected..what does it mean

Basically, the pick is not traded if certain criteria are met. A top 7 protected pick means if that pick is pick 1-7 it stays with the original team and is not trade. Lottery protected means a lottery pick would not be traded etc.

This.... So If we have New Orleans pick and it's top 7 protected in 2011 and that pick ends up being the #6 pick, then the pick stays with NO as it is protected. Now in 2011 if the pick is #8, then it would go to us because it is only top 7 protected.

If the pick was unprotected then it would not matter where the pick is as it would go to us, rather it's the #1 or #30 pick.

Thanks, I kind of thought based on assumption thats what it meant, but glad to know for sure.

I love how some people can make such a bold statement without seeing anything these new guys bring to the table. Ok, It sucks, we lost GW, and Nazr is gone too, but did they really bring everything to this team to make us 8th or 9th in the East? I just don't see how without those two players we automatically become the fuging Cavs or something.
