Yes, they may mate for life but the male species in the pair sometime raises other males offspring unknowingly...like another peguin fathered the thing..many penguins are also notoriously homosexual ... ....it's all kind of like a Penguin Maury Povich show on those rocks in the middle of the Antartic......just saying.
