Panthers general manager Marty Hurney arrived in Indianapolis for the NFL combine today and found the weather to be more winter-like than what he'd left behind in Charlotte.

But Hurney isn't worried about the weather: He'll spend most of his time indoors at Lucas Oil Stadium and at the nearby Crowne Plaza, where teams are allowed to meet with 60 players for 15 minutes apiece over the span of five nights, beginning Thursday.

Hurney said the two most important portions of the combine are the physicals and the face-to-face meetings with players.

This is what I have been saying for weeks now. The interview is one of the most important things. Forget film, workouts,or the combine the interview is what makes or breaks a player.

well...i wouldn't throw game film out the window. that is incredibly important.

workouts are about the most insignificant thing there is, unless there is some huge problem with mechanics, footwork, etc. it will answer questions about whether a player has improved on something or will end up pointing out a flaw.

those might help fringe players, but for the guys at the top there is probably very little that needs to be seen.
