good trade, williams whined about jerry sloan and they removed jerry sloan and I don't think they've won a game since.

One player for two nba starting caliber players, two first round picks is not a bad deal.

Also this trade makes a lot of sense when you look at the playoff race in the West. The Nuggets are 8th while the Jazz are 7th, neither team really has a shot at an NBA title. They're being proactive unlike the Cavs and are getting great returns for their disgruntled players.

Realistically they could still make the playoffs, not win a championship and only be slightly worse.

They should've kept Sloan though.

D-Will can opt out of his contract after the 2011-2012 season, same as CP3. NY now has two all-star pgs they could snag after next season. They are already said that they probably will keep Billups through next year.

Whether or not D-will goes to NY or not, chances are decent he will opt out anyway especially if NJ is not contending. The Nets probably just traded away their future for a one and half year rental on a point guard. Doesn't bother me a bit.

Charlotte made inquiries about Deron Williams before Nets got him. Bobcats trying to be aggressive on trade market. Keep eye on Boris Diaw.
-Marc Spears on Twitter....

We probably offered DJ and other things but we didn't have enough good players with good contracts and 1st round draft picks to sweeten the deal compared to NJ.
