Pump the brakes we’re headed in the right direction but not ready to compete in the division. Tampa Bay and Atlanta still have better rosters overall and there’s no reason to think the Bucs have taken a step back in the division. They’ve had a strong draft too

but let's just  look at the Panther right now (2025)  & what do you , i & everyone else see it's INEXPERIENCE

1) Qb 2 years experience / Bryce Young

2)WR 3 players with a combined 2 years experience  Jalen Coker , Xavier Legette & a Rookie at WR1 Teotria McMilian

3) TE 1 year experience J.Sanders

so whats that a  total of altogether 5 players at key skill positions on the offensive side of the ball with a combined 5 years of experience in the NFL

& then we have these rookie edge rushers that normally take at least on average  2 to 3 years of experience before they finally IF & WHEN develop into a legitimate starter in the NFL ?

be patient right now this is going to be like watching paint dry & hopefully one day soon  it shines

But what if the Panthers are buying flat finish paint? Or eggshell? Or matte?

I am still expecting something in the 5-7 win range but to be more frequently competitive.

It's a long road to rebuild this franchise. This is still far closer to the beginning than the end, IMO.

Reasonable take. Looks like a 6 win team to me.

I think the line opened at 6.5. Can't remember which site I was looking at. I think I will just wait and see. I can see both scenario's for us being under as well as over. I am just happy to see us actually taking steps forward. Still too many IF THIS and IF THAT in scenario's for us to win the division for me to confidently agree.

7-9 wins for me,  but not good enough to win division or go to the playoffs.

I wouldn't be surprised given how the NFL swings, but I'm not getting my hopes up for that.  Regardless of win totals, I want to see the following in 2025:

1. Continued development and improvement of Bryce and the offense.  This is coaching and player-related.

2. An improvement in the defense from historic bad to mediocre.  Anything beyond that is great.  Even at mediocre, we could have pulled off a few more wins last year.

3. The development of a strong core of leaders and a team identity emerge.

Wins?  I expect 6-8, some improvement, but we're not quite there yet.  Injuries are the greatest equalizer in the NFL, and we lacked depth across the board last year.  Maybe we're healthier this year?  Or our depth shows well when injury strikes.  I don't know.

Now look, we could go on a tear and win 10+ and the Division.  I wouldn't be sad at all there, but I also don't see it as being likely.  But it would be cool!

If Bryce plays well, I think we're a 8-9 win team.

I expect the Saints will suck, Atlanta will be their typical selves and around 6-8 wins, and Tampa is on top until proven otherwise. I *could* see Tampa take a step back after a couple years of losing their offensive braintrust and Todd Bowles makes some dumb decisions.

We're likely still a year away without some luck, but I feel like we're finally trending in the right direction.

When you're coming off a "worse ever in the history of the NFL" type season... mediocre sounds pretty damned good!
