He’s going into this season with no true competition for the #1

we have invested a fortune in a competent O-line

bonafide #1 RB

solid TE

Arguable top 10 slot WR in Theilen

back to back 1st round picks in WR

a OC minded HC

this IS his make it or break it year

We have certainly set it up to be.  Which I feel we should.

He may have one more year, but I feel like if he doesn't solidify himself as a franchise QB this year, real competition will be brought in next year.

Depends on how good or bad he really is, which will unfold this year.

Yes, at least we should.  This his contract year 'in theory.'  This next QB class is too loaded to pass up a guy up that we are lukewarm on. I say we (as the fans) because the Teppers and front office love the guy.  The Panthers missed out on the 2024 QB bonanza because we could sit patiently one more season and if we don't make the playoffs this year (at least be in the hunt deep into December) then it will be time to move on for someone in a QB class that will be nearly as loaded as that 2024 one.

I bet he gets year 4 even if he hovers around average but I get your point that we have to do all that just to see if he can play well over 17 games.   I would imagine over half the qbs in the nfl would be successful if they had all that going for them

This should be the make or break year. I don't think the Panthers are really thinking that way because I'm sure they fully expect him to continue his trajectory after coming back from the benching but if he does regress and go back to the type of play that led to the benching then yeah, I do think it would be time to move on at that point. Let's just hope that doesn't happen. I'm sure that's the Panthers' current mentality too.

We should. Bryce has to live up to #1 overall status this year.

I mean, given that massive trade he'd pretty much have to be Mahomes 2.0 to ever live up to that status. It's a sunk cost. It's just whether or not he's a guy you think you can win a SB with or not. If not, you gotta look for a guy who is. Pretty much that simple.

Bryce cannot afford a repeat of his past seasons, the last one in particular. It's consistent growth time, and it must be in our face and not just perceptible. This season is it, or we must turn the page. Experiments don't last forever. At some point the Investment has to produce acceptable results.

Yes, because he's finally surrounded by a legitimately good NFL cast of offensive teammates.  There are no holes in our offense right now, we have everything (except experience) that a team could want for their QB.

It's time to put up or shut up, and while I won't deny I've never been a Bryce backer, I'm still going to root hard for him to prove me wrong, I'd rather eat crow than still need us to find a long term QB solution.

THIS

I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again in the future so when I'm wrong, let it work out on a way that's positive for the Panthers. It ain't gonna hurt my feelings.
