I appreciate Tepper for wanting to win. He has actually taken a step back. He has. Don't you at least want to give him credit for that?

Now, I didn't hear the "basement dwellers" comment, but he's human. Billionaires, just by their very experience (whether self-made or given everything in a silver spoon), are going to have a degree of "assholeness," especially if you rub them the wrong way. In my opinion, Tepper is kind of benign.

When you have so much success, sometimes you just have to get out of your own way, and that's hard. There's a balance between knowing when to step in, and when to sit back and listen. I think that he's learning that.

i just wish that he wasn't so damned cheap with the field. What's that all about? The only thing that I can come up with is that he's a cheap ass motherfu<ker--a billionaire that may as well put turf around his mansion, fake plants and plastic flowers, just to get out of paying for lawn care.

I don’t mind him. He’s definitely villainized around here but honestly if you just accept that this organization was a fuging joke lonnnnggggg before he bought it and will be lonnnngggg after he is gone, it makes for a much more mellow, pleasurable Sunday viewing experience.

What the fug are you talking about? Yeah we weren’t a prestigious organization or anything but year after year for 20 years, outside of two seasons, we had a competitive team and were worth watching. Say what you want about JRich but we were far from a joke under his watch.

And how many back to back winning seasons did we have? What was the teams lifetime winning percentage? I’d wager around .500 at best.

I will love the Panthers forever no matter what but that is literally the definition of mediocrity bud.

I think what he is saying is that we went from mediocre to joke status--a virtual bottom feeder. Sure, we've never been a top tier team on a consistent basis, but we went to the Bowl twice (under JR). Tepper made some bad decisions, but, perhaps unlike others, I absolutely know that it takes time to figure things out, and it has to be super difficult to be a "boss" in one business, and then going through the process and realizing that you are a virtual greenhorn in another.

At least we seem to be headed in the right direction. We'll see come this fall.

Exactly. And I hope we are headed in the right direction and Tepper seems to be less hands-on and in your face but I don’t work for the organization so I wouldn’t know. I just hate this recency bias of some glory years that never existed. Yes we suck now. But we have always sucked.

Yeah but we weren't punchline of a joke bad like the Browns/Bungles/etc. Now we are. It's likely we will remain the worst NFL franchise for the foreseeable future.
