I really could care less about the Falcons. I hate this idea that teams should draft to counter their division rivals. You build the best team possible; that's how you compete - with anyone.

I'm not 100% sold on T-Mac, but I wasn't any more sold on Jalon Walker or James Pearce or any of the defensive players either. The only player I thought we had a realistic shot at that I was 100% sold on was Mason Graham, but the board didn't fall that way. That's just the draft for you.

I wasn't saying anything about competing with division rivals.   I was saying Falcons had a clear need and clearly addressed it and still got good value with their picks.  They didn't reach and they also didn't pick a player that makes no sense for them.  We reached by a few picks and picked another big wr with no quickness on a team with the slowest offense in the NFL.  We picked a guy with a #2 ceiling at pick 8 with no #1.

No?  Tmac isn't as good of a prospect as Drake London and London didn't do anything really until this past season.  I'm not sure off brand drake London is thr compliment you think it is.  Especially at pick 8 when you have a million ways you could go to improve the team

Agree to disagree.  Drake London is a baller, just needed a real QB throwing to him, he has that in Penix now (we think).  Bottom line, Falcons think they have their #1 WR, we don't.  This was clealry a bigger need than pass rush, especially when there weren't any blue chip prospects at 8 at the edge or DT position after Carter and Graham were drafted. The remaining are all very similar in grade from 1st to 2nd round, I just hope it's not too late at 57 to grab the one we like.

I think you might be the only one I’ve seen saying Falcons getting good value for their pick. Trading next years one for James Pierce was wild.

Proud of the Panthers. I preferred Walker but I'm not at all mad about T-Mac. I'm just proud because this is the first time in years where we haven't blatantly telegraphed our 1st round intentions.

If Dallas was really wanting tmac then I kindof wish we did telegraph who we wanted in hopes of Jerry getting desperate.

We may have thought that Walker was going to be the juicier trade bait? Once Jeanty went in front of us I think our trade down scenarios plummeted. That was the one blue chipper that we clearly weren't going to draft.

I think the Panthers were going for a Micheal Thomas.... if you guys haven't noticed we have been heavily emulating the Brees era saints personel....

I think people forget how many big throws and tds Bryce would’ve had if his receivers had caught the ball also ha. Morgan brought up his elite hands and catch radius multiple times

Not a bad plan. Of the elite QBs, Bryce probably most closely fits the Brees mold.

Also, our HC made his bread and butter with WRs, so let’s see what he thinks he got himself with one worth 8 overall.

I think people are getting lost at Canales’ potential input - the presser seemed to show he had a very good grasp on what Tmac was bringing and the type of infrastructure he wants here.

I'm not ready to give up on XL yet either. I'm hoping that lingering wrist injury was really impacting his hands.

Again, I specifically pointed out trading next year's first was bad.  I am talking value based on where a player was selected.   Pick 15 and pick 26.  Both players were a big time need for them and both players were expected to go earlier.

The division will go through Atlanta this year, and probably the next few to come as Pennix continues to evolve. Their entire offense is PROBLEMS.

The Panthers defense will not be able to hold that offense back this coming season, and even with a complete defensive overhaul… the season after that. For now the best shot the Panthers have is to find a way to go point for point, unless they want to pray for a wild card spot.

WR room is razor thin. No Coker, it’s a wrap. No Thielen? Turn out the lights. XL is not that guy that will elevate JAGs. Moore?

When, not if, Pennix comes on… The Falcons are going to blow some teams out this year. They are going to rack up points and not many defenses are going to be able to do anything about it, especially this one.

I hope the rest of the draft is defensive heavy, but this was a very good and very needed pick.
