Deion created this entire draft mess by running his mouth before the draft spinning any critique of his son to the media to get the attention on himself. He created this monster and his sons talent can't back it up.

well said.  And Shedeur has a reason to think that--this is his wake up call.  Not that he has the talent to rebound and answer it.

I was an assistant coach in high school and the head coach bragged about how good his son was--he was slow and a turd.  He talked about him playing DI college football.  He moved him to punter and lied about his stats--still, he could not get his son a scholarship.  He called Fisher DeBerry at Air Force--where there are no football scholarships--and sent his son there to save face.  His son was terrible; I heard that half the team could punt better than him.  And he was a turd--got kicked out. Dad set him up to fail and he failed.  Sorry for the stories--I just see so much of this Dadism hurting kids.

I love my sons more than life itself but I do not try to control their destiny in life. As they grew I advised them on what is moral and respect and trust. I thought them how to be a good person and how to respect others. The most important things I taught them was how to survive and be successful but be responsible for both for himself and the his family. They were always responsible for their own decisions and faced the consequences for them. "That's all I have to say about that" - said in a Forrest Gump voice.

Egos don't go away when you retire from the game--it is hard to be close to the game and not get that drive back--vicariously.  You sound like a good dad--and I had to back off because my sons were not that interested. The found other stuff to be good at--

I tried to get my sons interested in my profession but neither showed any interest at all. I stressed the money most of all but that wasn't enough either. I suppose my gripping about work when I got home in their informative years had an effect I didn't anticipate.

it is hard enough to win a single game without distractions 

…the Panthers had two bad issues….the Browns showed  what taking a chance gets a franchise
