REPORT: Rams were attempting to trade up to take Tet McMillan

Don't think we fuged up at all. We need an X WR. You can not sign one in FA, trading for any of them worth a damn is too costly. You basically have to draft one.

Big fan of this move. There were major questions marks with any defensive prospect we took at 8

I still don’t get the love for Jalon Walker.  In my opinion it was somewhat sheep mentality following what every one else wanted for us.  I like the kid and think he’s an overachiever but his production was not top 10 worthy. I could only see him as a rotational piece with Wonnum, Clowney and Patrick Jones. Walkers range was 15 to 25 in my opinion. Glad we stuck to our board.

I think he is a scheme specific fit. I didn't think that fit was with Evero.

Their history of failure drafting edge rushers is working against them but the fact that lots of Panthers fans wanted Walker and we passed with a division rival drafting him it just feels destined that he's the next coming of LT. LOL

Watch some UGA games and see who jumps off the screen on D.

they paid a heavy heavy price in a draft that is flat talent wise at dline after the first few picks. I would argue they didnt get great value and Pearce will neve live up to his price.

Scoring and Front-7 is what gets you to win games. We still needed firepower.

Regarding McMillan - where I’m at is getting excited. Many were willing to take gambles on front-7 guys with serious question marks whether physically, skill wise or off the field concerns.

And if a guy has the elite hands and plays well in traffic, that helps with the separation. He’s not as physical as London but he’s got some finesse to his game. Played super well in a crazy year for that program and poor QB play. I think he has a really high floor, interested to see how good he could be.

Pearce Jr is going to be a bust. I cant believe they gave up their 1st next year for him. Walker will probably be a menace against us an average player overall in my opinion

I have seen a few UGA games and I like him a lot.  Walkers size against elite NFL tackles create questions. Questions that made me uncomfortable. I don’t think you should draft question marks in the top 10. If you have another player with a similar grade, take the other player.

I am a little nervous about Walker and Pearce going to the Falcons. Seems like our luck they will ball out.

    • I think they are holding back to see what they have in the young guys, but I think it's a near certainty at some point they will bring someone else in. Right now (assuming we keep 5 CBs which is normal), the top 5 IMO are: 1) Jaycee Horn 2) Mike Jackson 3) Chau Smith-Wade 4) Shemar Bartholomew  5) Akayleb Evans   Obviously Jaycee is the alpha in that room and paid as such. Need him to stay healthy and continue to play at a Pro-Bowl level. Mike Jack did pretty well all things considered last year, and they gave him lower-level starter money. Fair deal for both sides.  Smith-Wade showed some promise as a slot CB. I think low-key he's a lock for the team. Different size and skill set than the other CBs. Shemar Bartholomew was the most sought after waiver claim last preseason. Was 5th CB most and inactive most of last year. Had a few defensive and ST snaps. Nothing of note good or bad but too small a sample size to make any judgment. Akayleb Evans was a 2022 4th Rounder for the Vikings. Has started 19 games (including Week 18 for the Panthers) in his career and played in 43. Was pretty good in 2023 before getting injured and falling down the depth chart last year. There's some other guys on the outside looking in, but until they show more in training camp I dont see anyway they make the 53. And only Jaycee, Mike Jack, and Smith-Wade are locks to make this roster IMO.
    • Was just reading the Ask the Old Guy story on the team's website and was shocked to see that only two 2nd Rounders have signed so far, 30 of them haven't. That isn't normal, the Texans really screwed things up for the rest of the league, no other explanation that I can think of for 30 of the 32 picks to still be unsigned at this point.
    • They need to address CB before season starts. This is not going to cut it.
