REPORT: Rams were attempting to trade up to take Tet McMillan

They say that about some pick in every draft. Traded up for Brooks because Dallas was going to take him. Take TMJ because NO was going to take him. Sounds like they are trying to justify the pick.

They do. The past 8 drafts including this one have been filled with every other team knowing our picks ahead of time and PR like this trying to explain reaches/bad picks. The Rams are the same team that offered us 2 1sts and a 2nd for Burns. I hope McMillan works out but a rumor about the Rams is just to make us feel better and has 0 impact on whether or not we made a good pick.

He didn't create presser on any of those plays. Someone else caused the pressure and Walker cleaned up on it. You have to look at everyone on the D-line and their impact on the play.  He gets credit for the sack yes but you have to put those into context. No pressure in the middle he cannot get home. The qb holds the ball too long he gets credit for a sack because someone else forced the qb into him. But that has to be taken into context or you get another Burns. He is good no doubt but not as good as one thinks.

Kelvin Banks Jr hand placement was awful. I question the New Orleans pick at 9.  My synopsis is Icky will maul him with those same moves. It’s the speed rushers that give Icky problems. Banks did a good job staying in front of Javon, but Banks allowed Walker to control the play by staying disengaged.

I was nervous about the Walker  pick. I was a tad concerned with having so many 1 on 1s on a defense like that the production wasn't as high.

Then again I got to watch Kyle Kennard stat pad all year.

I dont hate going BPA as long as we go defense heavy the rest of the way. We need competition bad on that side of the ball.

The qb held the ball too long on that play. That's on the qb.

That's how most sacks happen. You don't see many sacks at all when the QB is getting the ball put in three seconds. It usually takes the combo of a good pass rush, decent coverage, and the QB trying to hang in there.

they paid a heavy heavy price in a draft that is flat talent wise at dline after the first few picks. I would argue they didnt get great value and Pearce will neve live up to his price.

Pearce all but disappeared down the stretch last year for the Vols.

I still don’t get the love for Jalon Walker.  In my opinion it was somewhat sheep mentality following what every one else wanted for us.  I like the kid and think he’s an overachiever but his production was not top 10 worthy. I could only see him as a rotational piece with Wonnum, Clowney and Patrick Jones. Walkers range was 15 to 25 in my opinion. Glad we stuck to our board.

Same here man
