THE LATEST: Todd McShay, Panthers are the most likely team to move out of top 10

True but I think people heard at a discount and ran with it. 6 teams in the top 10 are wanting to trade back. I think we mentioned ours could be had at a discount to get some conversations started. We should still get decent value despite the top 10 sucking outside of a couple players.

Look at the draft. The talent in the 2nd and mid 1st are not that different than at 8. The biggest difference is who has been talked about endlessly to fill the void since so few of the guys in that second teir worked out enough to allow any seperation that were at the top of that teir. I just don't think the traditional trade value holds up when the talent just isn't there at thr top of the 1st. It's even worse top 5. The 8th pick is probably holds the value of a pick in the 20s in other drafts but still has to pay a fixed cost so most if not all the players in the top 10 will be overpayed for thr talent level recieved which is usually reserved for taking shots on a QB.

It's a really weird draft and really unimpressive from a value standpoint in the early first. And they still have to pull off a trade or spend time justifying a flawed pick in the top 10 if stuck with it. I think that part hit close to home for everyone Panther related more than losing a little value on a pick with meh options in comparison to other years.

Agreed. It’s a weird draft. Not a great one for top 10 picks…
