For all the people crying about the WR choice, do keep in mind that these DE/EDGE guys seem to be dropping. So we may end up being able to grab a starting caliber guy anyway.

and maybe they aren't as good as their hype. It sure looks like the nfl sees it that way or at least that there isnt so much difference between the top 10

A guard...wow

the Cowboys do have a history of drafting Oline in R1 in recent years, maybe not super off beat to draft him. I think it just defied all the mock drafts that had them picking Golden or Jeanty or Tet.

You don't like taking the drafts #1 WR?  Sigh

I don’t like not fast WRs, that aren’t really good route runners….for an O in desperate need of YAC and speed.   We just spent a first on XL to develop.

not saying anything new or reactionary.  Same thought posted earlier today multiple times

He’ll get separation by being twice the size of the DB and boxing them out for the ball.

Plenty of analysts had him over both. I don't know where some of y'all have been. Don't get lost in the lying season. Tet was regarded by many as the top receiver in this draft.

I'm going off plenty of rankings plus my own. I had rated in the 30's overall in this draft but thought he'd get picked middle of the first. I had Golden and Hunter above him by quite a lot.

Defense was a much bigger need and I had Walker rated 3rd/4th overall in this draft, so did ESPN and a bunch of others.

Problem with tet is you can take him out of the game by pressing him and being physical at the Los by putting hands on him with a solid punch by the DB. Can't be an X in the NFL and get taken out by press coverage and DB's being physical.

I am not sure I have ever seen a prospect as overrated as Warren by our fanbase.

Even worse, some douche on this forum was saying we would be an idiot not to draft him and guaranteed he would go top 10 🤦‍♂️ The dude also pooed every post I said that I rated him as late 1st round talent

Also not surprised loveland went before him

I think it is largely a lot of solid, starting caliber players but not much in the way of elite players. But, given depth of this class, I do think you will see some Pro Bowl/All Pro caliber guys. Probably at least 2, IMO. The issue will be figuring out which guy it is.

    • I know, this guy is 5th round at best but were talking Newton here.
    • Pete Prisco https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2025-nfl-draft-grades-for-round-1-jags-earn-a-for-travis-hunter-move-giants-get-c-for-jaxson-dart-pick/amp/ Panthers: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona Grade: C I don't love this pick. I know they need to get help for Bryce Young, but I thought Matthew Golden was a better option. They also have defensive needs. McMillan doesn't run that well, which is always a concern PFF https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2025-nfl-draft-grades-every-first-round-pick#car )Carolina Panthers: WR Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona Pick Grade: Very Good The Panthers continue to build around Bryce Young, who led the NFL in big-time throws from Week 8 through the end of the regular season. Now, he has another downfield target. McMillan was one of the more productive receivers in college football over the past two seasons, ranking in the 85th percentile or better among qualifying NCAA wideouts in receiving grade versus single coverage, yards per route run and contested-catch rate CBS  https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/nfl-draft-2025-ranking-all-32-first-round-picks-as-browns-pass-on-travis-hunter-vikings-bills-get-steals/amp/ Ranked 2nd Tetairoa McMillan (Panthers, WR, No. 8 overall)  Anything to help Bryce Young -- who came on like gangbusters after his Year 2 benching -- right? Absolutely. And McMillan does just that as a classic boundary receiver who wins in the traditional ways, with his size, body and in traffic. There's a glimmer of flexibility to his game, but he isn't a dynamic separator. Not every good receiver has to be elite at getting open on a routine basis against man. McMillan isn't Mike Evans with the ball in the air. There are flashes of those contested-catch skills, and he's a monster after the catch
    • Walker was a top 5 athletic in this draft but our scheme IMO wasn't a good fit. We may regret passing on him.  T-Mac as three years of performance and it stands out. I think he opens up the rest of our receiving room. I expect XL and Coker to make big strides in 2025. I've seen grades of A to C on T-Mac, so it just depends on how you feel.  We have to focus on defense on the next 3 or 4 pick. Our round 4 and 5 picks are high picks in that round.  Let's hope Dan and Dave get those picks right.
