I mean, we have the worst record in the NFL since Tepper bought the team. It's not like that breeds optimism.

have we managed not only be the worst NFL team under Tepper or do we still own the prestigious title of worst in all of professional sports?

I actually think last year's class has more potential than our last several. Granted, that factors in Jalen Coker who was a UDFA, but still. If XL can stop trying to catch rodents long enough to learn how to catch footballs there is potential in last year's class. I think Sanders will be a solid TE and Wallace has flashed at ILB. Smith-Wade has potential as well.

I just don't like what I'm hearing about the players we seem to be enamored with relative to where we would be picking them. Donovan Ezeiruaku is a player I like, but not in the top-10 or even top half of the 1st round. That's the kind of player you take after trading down into the 20s. Water Nolen is a great player, but has significant character red flags. Mykel Williams is the definition of traits over performance.

I fear we're about to make a big mistake in the 1st round tomorrow night.

Preach. Where’s the consistency? On Day 1 we were told we were going to bring in “DAWGS.” Players to change the culture. Now we’re hearing a day before the draft we’re in love with a player that has a long list of character concerns and issues? Where is the consistency? Are we just saying stuff? Are we just making stuff up as we go? I swear man, have a plan and stick with it.

Taking Walter Nolen over Mason Graham would completely contradict every thing they’ve told us about how this team will be built. I don’t care about “potential” or RAS scores. Give me the fuging bully with a ring on his finger that got even meaner when playing his biggest rival.

It helps the Panthers in these rankings that our city also has a basketball team that plays down the road

Yeah, of Graham is there fug drafting someone else or taking some ripoff trade offer. Just draft the stud. Don't overthink it or try to get cute.

Sanders - DT

Burch - DT/EDGE

Kennard - EDGE

Knight - LB

Hemmingway - DT

That's 5 defensive front 7 players projected around rounds 2-4.   A lot of it depends on what happens w/ the first pick.   But the defensive front 7 is the red circle on the team I think Morgan will over draft this time over better players.   I'll make a name prediction on which one after they make their Thursday night pick.

and the Panthers for whatever reason, go to the Gamecock well more than any other University I think in all of college football.

I'm not crazy about their obsession with SC players in the least. It's like it's written into some contract in the FO that an SC player must be taken in every draft.

I would say your odds of winning that bet is pretty good. I'm not betting against you.

It feels far too much like last year. Taking the “traits” guy with “potential” instead of the sure fire good player that played a pivotal role in winning two national championships. Sure thing, let’s bring in this guy that Texas A&M was begging to leave 12 months ago because POTENTIAL or whatever man.

Watch Mason Graham play against Ohio State. That should end whatever debate we’re having here. Move down for an extra third to get a way worse player. Sure great call considering how great we always do on day two.

I expect Graham to be gone but teams might get caught up on measurables and convince themselves to draft someone else. Unfortunately, we're the poster child for that. Ironically, the one time we ignored measurables we made one of the most aggressive trade ups in recent memory.

There’s honestly no consistency man. When we paired Dan with Dave I did think they at least had a vision for how they wanted to build the team. But they’ve done so many things since then that contradict building the team in the way we were told they were going to.

Id say in the past few years verge has made some predictions and was on the money. I cannot stress how hard it is to be right or close to right on draft guesses. Vastly more than not, verge dropped some correct statements.

Many of those names are linked to Panthers from various visits and reports from other sources.

@Verge what ended up with that old source you used? I think it was an area scout from Indy. Plus I thought you "retired" from these type of threads(mainly cause of donkeys...)

For me this is one of the double double tricks to ruse you to fool everyone type of deals. I can not get over Dave and others commenting/drooling on Walker as a player/leader. It's just sus as all hell. Now we are going to find out if verges smokescreen sources were given mis-leading information or did the national media get lazier with repeating "Panthers absolutely love jalon walker".

Small part of me believes Panthers do in fact want walker, BUT the dominant side of me is reminded of the last few years of out-comes..
