Why I Believe That We Will Trade Down

It's just a burden to throw a dart if you're so green. Dan has his work cut out for him.

We can't right this ship in a single offseason anyway. Dan Morgan needs to focus on the basics. If he gets hung up on trying to get value out of this pick or that pick and trying to acquire extra assets like Scott Fitterer used to always thinking he was the smartest guy in the building then Dan is in all likelihood in for another rude awakening. And as usual the fanbase will be the ones picking up the pieces.

I agree, but if he knows what he's doing, he can gain two for the price of one, and in a draft like this one--if what people believe is true--there's not a difference in quality between about the fifth and 45th picks anyway.

Also, I guess you "didn't see it..."😁

Yeah certainly it can be done in a way that's beneficial and I'm not saying we shouldn't consider it or that I don't believe in Morgan overall. But there are some concerns. I'm just of the opinion that trying to be clever and work the draft with trades should not be our highest priority. Changing our fortunes with our draft picks as a whole should be our priority. If that means just staying put that's fine. Just draft good to great football players don't reach for need and call it a draft because we really need a minimum solid class this year if we are to begin making some headway in getting ourselves out of the cellar.

Sorry, but anyone who doesn't think there isn't much of a difference in quality between the 5th and 45th pick in the draft, then you're an idiot, period.

If that was truly the case, then we'd be better off not even trading back, but trading out of the first 2 rounds of this draft entirely and picking up a ton of future picks instead.
