Cam Newton: Self-proclaimed entertainer, icon

Not you or your post which I skimmed and said something how The Golden Calf of Bristol is a 1,000 yard rusher so Cam will be a 2,000 yard rusher using the same logic that Moore would throw 26 TDs and 6 Int this year

Lol. Not exactly. But hey, at least you skimmed it. :D

NFL Network Update: Cam's fate will be determined by his ability to handle chalk talk. If he doesn't know his stuff, he will not be taken first, more than likely obviously. Commentators seemed to agree.

Lomardi says that the Panthers cannot afford to take a gamble on Newton. Nobody is saying that they should take him. Agreed that the comment about "icon" was potentially harmful. Nobody said it reflects confidence and a desirable attitude. They questioned his commitment to the rigors of playing NFL QB--"Will he commit to the team that commits to him?" Developmental project, will take time.

All agree that he will dazzle at the Combine.

Lombardi said (referring to Panthers) that Panthers should go DL because "they just don't make it to free agency." Said Panthers need blue chip players and should not trade down. Made a suh vs. McCoy comparison. Big difference. Mentioned DE and discussed Bowers and Quinn. Quinn getting a lot of respect.

Is he just a hater too?

Don't know what he is really. I do know that Rivera and Hurney need to make their own decisions and not give a rat's ass about what Dukes and Lombardi say about them.

And FTR, Dukes and Lombardi both seem to think that Cam is a run first QB, which tells me that neither one of them watched him play much.

Well that does it. Rivera and Hurney better do what Lombardi says.

Do you want to know what others are saying or do you want sunshine blown up your skirt? Lomardi is a former director of player personnel who is a bit more of an expert on NFL personnel than anyone on this board. Do you realize how your unsupported cynicism reflects?

You know I usually hate all your opinions because they are usually wrong but I absolutely love it when you go after people!

I know exactly who he is. I just don't believe he's done his homework on this one, because the only reason Cam ran so much in college, is because his coaches called runs for him. When he scrambled, he was always looking to throw first. He is not a run first QB because he couldn't throw. And Jamie Dukes is full of poo if he thinks that Cam doesn't have the arm that Vick has. There is not a throw he can't make.

Watch the film, dude, the kid is always looking upfield before he runs, unless it's a called run. He is not like Vick, who always used to take off and run at the first sign of trouble. And BTW, the Falcons designed plays for Vick where he only had to make one simple read a lot of times, and he still screwed it up quite often. Even you're smart enough to know that Cam could handle that.
