Can Cam be coached to be a NFL QB?

We will never agree on this. Bernacrap Regressed and still can't stop any Dline stunt and Gray williams is the worst RT tackle I've seen. Without Otah that right side not only lost it's toughess but it draged down the rest of the Oline. Now the Wr improve as the season went a long but Jimmy was in the 3rd game of the season and they weren't good at the start. Plus he was always working with different wr's (clowny, Delvin thomas). The running game didn't get going until the end of the season. The defense was solid most of the year but some games they didn't do the offence any favors (Bears game they made Forte look like Sweetness in the 1st qrt. then the drop int's in the cincy game). Jimmy was bad but even on some good drives somebody else my have made a drive killing play.

Examples:

Jordan Gross - How many drive killing holding calls did he have this year?

J Stew - Costly fumble in the Cinncy game

Goodson - has some bad fumbles

D-will - bad run in the 1st NO game

WR - drops in worst situation like Gary drop in the game that hit him in the chest.

I can't think of them all.

Like I said Jimmy sucked but the situation wasn't ideal for a rookie QB. We will not agree on that.

You are wrong about disagreeing in general. Clausen did suck and he wasn't in an ideal situation for him. I agree.

If we disagree about anything it is more not the past but the future. I am all for giving Jimmy more chances and not writing him off. I just don't want to put all my eggs in that basket hoping it hatches into something decent. I want to seriously upgrade the position and see who emerges. If it is Clausen then he should start. If not then that is the way it goes in the NFL.

I am over 2010, it is done. I just don't want to go into 2011 without a much better plan at the Qb position than we had in 2010. otherwise we will have similar results I fear.

I agree If Jimmy is still in your plans then I would like some competition brought in and a older Vet with game exp.

Like Matt Moore resigned and Marc Bulgur signed.

But if you draft Cam then i feel clausen should be traded and you bring in a older vet.

Who do you think would be interested in a trade for Clausen, everyone passed on him on the draft and his stock is significantly lower now.

Clausen isn't going anywhere.

He only showed it in one year!!!! You Unc fans are funny he sucked every other year but 1. Fans were calling him TJ yikes until this year alot of you wanted the back-up too beat him out. Let's just say if Larry Drew had stayed and had a good senior year would you want the Bobcats too draft him? Let it go MC.

Miss the point much?

Everybody pass on him in the 1st and half the 2nd round. If he would have made it out the 2nd he wouldn't have made it out the 3rd.

Team list that IMO would look at giving us a 4th or maybe a 3rd for Jimmy.

Buf

Cincy

Wash

Minny

Zona

Seahawks

49ers

Tenn

If by your point you were trying too say that Yates is "Pro ready" thing and compare him too Jimmy then yes i got your point and yates doesn't compare too jimmy.

If not then what point were you trying too make?

Actually, I was comparing him to Newton, because he has everything that Newton, supposedly, doesn't have...except talent.

Clausen isn't going anywhere. He is signed relatively cheaply on a four year deal. We likely won't know what he can do for a year. Even then knowing our team, we have to have more than 1 guy who can start. 4 out of the last 5 seasons the opening day starter didn't make it through a full season.

There is no value right now in the trade market for Jimmy Clausen. Which is why he will likely start at the beginning of next season to try and generate some value on the trade market even if we draft Newton or sign a FA.

Well we will disagree. You would have too be stupid too think that their is not a few cocky GM,HC, or OC who think that isn't worth the risk of a 4TH ROUND pick. Too get a QB as young as Jimmy with Jimmy's talent. No matter your personal opinion about the kid. Other bad QB have brought good trade value too a team.

Brady Quinn, Jason Campbell are a few examples.

Both of them had positive TD/INT ratio which is something to build on. Also, since Jimmy is so young and talented, wouldn't it make sense to keep him?

Both of them had more then 1 year before their team picked another QB. This is a different situation. If you pick Cam #1 overall I see no reason for Jimmy too be here get what you can for him bring in a vet and Matt Moore. If you keep Jimmy. You have 2 young QB who feel they should be the leader and the face of this team. Cause two camps in the locker room it doesn't work one will be a distraction. If you take Cam you have pretty much told Jimmy his future is not here. It's the same thing if we had taken Luck. Their is only room on a roster for 1 QB of the future.
