Can Cam be coached to be a NFL QB?

I hear about being NFL ready but when you are talking about the first pick in the draft and the fact he will need a year of being an apprentace, potential has to count for something.Afterall, Jimmy Clausen was the most NFL ready qb on the board last year.I see a guy with a very strong arm, ideal size, superior speed, and from what I have read, leadership in the Huddle .I proclaim to have little knowledge on how difficult this would be hence the post. What I do know is the scouts and TV gurus have him as top five on the board so why would they not have him as number 1.My thought process is if he fails at qb he would make one hell of a tight end.LOL

OK, first of all, can you type that out with proper spacing and grammar? It's pretty hard to read.

Back to the topic at hand, the answer is dependent on his football IQ, something none of us are very sure about because he came out of a simple system. Does that mean he's dumb? No, it means we have no way of knowing because none of us can sit down with him and have Cam break down some tape or something.

That will happen at the combine this week. Teams get to interview candidates and ask questions to test the candidates football knowledge. This will go a long way to decide how teams see him.

I think Cam can certainly succeed in the NFL. I am still skeptical of taking him, but I am slowly coming around to the idea. Everything he has can make him a winning QB. I don't think he will ever put up MVP numbers, but I think he can win us games. That is ultimately all that matters.

The main thing against him, in my opinion, is his ability to make reads. At Auburn, if his first wasn't there he took off running. He needs to be able to go through his progression and make throws in the pocket. Running should be a rarity for him. He isn't fast enough to blow past NFL players like he did in college.

Again, I'm slowly warming up to the idea.

The "pro ready" QB's that played in NFL style offenses in college, have been the biggest busts to come out lately.

It is an overrated asset that means very little in the transition to the NFL.

The questions for Cam are the same that will be any QB, including Luck. How quickly can he make multiple reads, pre-snap reading, adjusting to the speed of the defense.

If he can learn that he will be fine.

Spread QB's don't bother me as much as run option QB's.
