I was actually about to put a QB in my mock draft because hurney said it was #1 need and Rivera said they would pick based on need.

They don't have to draft a QB but there better be some legit competition. If they draft one they don't have to sign an All-World guy but as long as we have competition I'm good.

I'm sure Hurney will consider Rivera's input, but he has the final call - just as he has always had.

You can be critical of some of his picks, but you'd better also praise him for Beason, Kalil, Otah, Stewart, DeAngelo, Thomas Davis, etc, etc, etc....

I read somewhere that Hurney was ranked 3rd among GM's for his drafts, I think folks focus way too much on Hurney's failures in the draft and overlook his successes.

I said the same thing when Rivera was hired. This isn't new or particularly earth shattering. In a speech talking about who they were going to hire, Richardson said that previously the team asked the head coaches who and what they wanted. This time they were going to tell the coaches what they wanted and needed. All to indicate they are going to dictate what happens from the front office.

Anyone who pays a modicum of attention to what has been said would know this to be true.

Yeah this isn't new news, but I'm more interested in knowing if he's reiterating this because of a possible disaggrement between him & Rivera? New question for the ask Yas thread I think.

I doubt they are going to publicly disagree since Rivera knows that Hurney has the last say.

Still from different comments I gathered Rivera wants a QB. Don't know where Hurney is at right now.
